wishing for another convention

I got back from RavenCon.  It was an awesome con, small, but then everything is small compared to DragonCon.  I really enjoyed it because I got to see Devo Spice (from Sudden Death) and Rob Balder and I got to meet Danny Birt, an excellent filker whose album Warped Children's Songs I purchased right after hearing him.  I am now up to date on all the FuMP compilation CDs.  I have 1-7 and am a subscriber so that I automatically get any new ones that come out.  For my friends who don't know, the FuMP is The FUnny Music Project which is a collection of comedy musicians.  For more information, check out www.thefump.com where you can download free funny music and find some very talented musicians.  Okay, end FuMP plug.  But seriously, I loved RavenCon.  The con was well accepted by the con-goers.  It seemed that everyone had something to go and see.

I had a blast at the con before Raven, too.  I went to MidSouthCon in Memphis, TN with
voiceofkiki.  While there I got to meet ShoEbox of Worm Quartet and his wife, Kim (a.k.a. Mrs. ShoEbox), The great Luke Ski, Sara Trice, Chris Mezzolesta from Power Salad, and that's where I first met Rob Balder and Devo Spice.

Now I can't wait to go to another convention.  However, those two nearly drained me dry with the plane ticket buying and the CD and T-shirt buying, but it went to a good cause, so I don't mind.  Now I'm just saving up some money to take driving courses And yes, I don't have my license yet.  Let's get this out of the way, so I don't have to deal with it.  I never needed a car, really, so to save on insurance, gas, and parking expenses I've gone without.  But now I do need a car.  There's one being sold by someone here and if it meets with my approval, hopefully soon I'll have a car.  Then I can take all of my over-21 friends out.  Then shortly, I'll have driving school done and take the test and have success with a real license and lower insurance.

And eventually, I'll be able to get a job somewhere and move.  But I don't know where to go.  Any ideas?  I'd really like somewhere NOT in the south, since that's where I've lived all my life.  But I'd also like to have at least one person living there that I know.  Also, it'd be great if I could be somewhere where there are conventions that are more accessible.  Also, I'm aiming for a city, or maybe just outside of one.
