(no subject)
It probably says something about me that this makes me want that AU in which Steve is like. Horticulture nerd in high school. His love of plants translates into his opening a flower shop (please, please, don't judge) or a plant nursery.
(Only now I am also thinking of Weiß Kreuz in which the pretty florists sell flower arrangements by day and kill bad dudes by night, but whatever.)
Danny somehow wanders into Steve's shop/nursery (maybe looking for a Japanese Peace Lily) and there is Steve! Steve with his little apron and glasses and horrible hair and face and is all, ":DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD"and Danny is like. "..."
Then there are shenanigans of the romantic comedy sort in which Danny gets flowers or Japanese Peace Lily and then is like, "Thanks for all the unnecessary information on plants. That I will in no way remember past the thing about them needing water, I guess?" And Steve is ":DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD?" (Deep inside, however, he frets about the plants he has given over to Danny's care and ends up being a creepy stalker because he's thinking of the plants, okay? He's doing it all for the plants.)
Danny is like. "Are. Are you actually stalking me? Because, and no offense here, you are pretty crap at it. My daughter saw you, and she's eight."
Steve, okay. Steve has been camped outside Danny's place with bad coffee and Kono's pity and a little bit of the crazy eyes because it's been days and there's no knowing how the plants are. "The plants, man, tell me about the plants!"
And then I reveal that I maybe need more sleep. Maybe.
OR. There is the AU where Steve's flower shop is a front for his nightly assassination things or whatever.
Danny is like. "My detecting has led me to this quaint little flower shop, though how someone who is as hapless looking as you could possibly be a secret ninja assassin is beyond me."
Steve is just, ":DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD" and also, "May I recommend the Japanese Peace Lily? It's remarkably hardy and difficult to kill like me and also aesthetically pleasing to the eye?"
Danny is like. "Um. What?" and also, "...Thanks?"
...And then shenanigans. IDK, sleep eludes me.
