Ahaha. So remember this post? And then how I posted this at wolfshirts? I'm going through the music I have on the laptop trying to pick out songs for the field show theme 'pop-punk', and kind of making myself crazy.

'Grand Theft Autumn' is in the show, of course, seeing as how it's the song that started it the whole thing. I'm thinking of using Green Day's 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' as the slow song in the show. It would be incredible with a flute or clarinet playing the acoustic guitar part and a trumpet or flugel horn coming in on the vocals at the beginning. (Or Ray could pull one of his guitar students in for that part, whichever.) I'm also looking for a song for the inevitable drum solo - there is always a song with a drum solo, it's a law! (And Bob would totally demand one to show how amazing his kids are!)

Ahaha, oh, band days, how you haunt me even now. *facepalm*

Seriously, it's like everything I thought I'd forgotten is coming back, and it's eerie what I remember. The arguments. The whole woodwinds vs brass thing. The drum line being an entity unto themselves. The tuba section with their little berets! The shoe polish fights! DINKLES. Shakos. The good luck traditions. The stupid, lame jokes right before we hit the field for performance - "Your plume's on backwards!" Oh, the panicked looks on the freshmans' faces at that one. Good times.

ttf, don't judge me!, wtf?, fob, bandom, crack, plotty things, wolfshirts, music, mcr
