Monster loot-post: February and March HBS combo
Caught up with my purchases, with the reading only half of it, and April mangas are just around the corner aaaargh.
Anyways here are the pictures:
German
Last volume of Spiral, will read everything again in summer.
I like the manga/manwha version of Gossip Girl because it doesn't focus on Serena, but other than that the characters are not very likeable and the comedy moments feel out of place.
Yakumo is always good. A new stroy begins, intriguing.
KiraKira /Bitte lächeln was surprisingly better than expected, it's the same characters and the same story throughout the entire volume, not a collection of stand-alone one shots.
These days, I buy way more French manga than German ones, it used to be the other way round (cheaper prices in Germany). It's a bad habit I caught while studying in a French-speaking country. Now those mangas qualify as imports and I pay more for them (Taifu/Yaoi mangas cost me 9€ per volume, Ki-oon -although the format is larger and there are color pages- 8€ and everything else is between 6,95 and 7,95€, whereas my average for German mangas is still 6,5€ per volume. Ouch.)
French
Karneval and Conductor are clearly my favorites. They're released together every other month and I look forward to them the most.
Hana wa saku ka is also endearing, although I don't like this volume's new character, too cliché.
Silver Diamond is still slow-paced but it doesn't do the story wrong. In fact I've always enjoyed the pacing.
Dengeki Daisy is not progressing as quickly anymore, but still has its funny moments.
I'm contemplating dropping Akuma to Love Song.
Same cell organism / A l'unission is a bit overrated imho, I preferred the author's non-BL works.
Welcome to hotel Williams Child Bird is intriguing, I bought it for the art (Seven Days Mangaka) but I stayed for the story.
Kamisama Hajimemashita / Divine Nanami is as entertaning as always, one of my shoujo highlights of the moment. This volume featured a cute backstory on Tomoe and the snake.
Bride of the Water God is being released what, 2 volumes a year? Makes me wanna drop it.
Otomen and We are always, you are getting soooo boring D: Don't be boring.
Number, I'm glad this is over.
Private teacher is.. quite explicit?! I was a bit shocked that it doesn't come shrink-wrapped.
Bonus: Ilgenes, Vol.1 (French)
This arrived a month ago, I won it in some pseudo-contest held by a partner website of the French publisher. I say "pseudo" because all the questions could have been asked by peeking at the baka page for the series. I think they didn't have many participants, that's why I won? Anyway I wasn't planning on buying the series, but I've heard good things about it since then, the art seems nice and there appears to be homolusting. Will read at least vol1 since it came for free.
