The (almost) weekly merchandise post

Apr 29, 2011 16:39

Today I'm gonna show you what nice goodies the French manga publisher produce for us (most of the stuff is custom-made, i.e. not based on a Japanese equivalent, so it's pretty exclusive stuff)

Usually the publishers will give you a bookmark or two, to promote a new series or an event (japan expo). So far nothing too fancy, altough I do collect them (because I seem to lose mine and always read 2-3 books at the time and need a bookmark for each) (a bookmark is something I need all the time, but I could never brace myself and buy one. Why buy what comes for free? And you can always use a postcard, picture, piece of string and what not)

Some have really nice shapes, so I kinda collect those.

Then you have all the stationary: notes, post-its, magnets and even a pen box! Other paper-y stuff includes postcards (sometimes matching the season, we had Christmas cards one year ec.) and seal sheets. The green thingie is a "Honey and Clover" clover charm and the Hanakimi one is a cellphone cleaner.

And the most impressive stuff: MangaXFood OTP

BL Bento box

Chocolat & Vanilla tumbler
Such nice gifts, I absolutely wanted them, now they're exhibited on my shelves but will never be used (cf. below)

Not featured in the pictures (because can't find it / gave it away / WHERE ON EARTH DID I STORE THIIIIIIS?????):
- Black Butler CD holder (came for free with vol. 2 + 3 of the French manga) gave it to my mom, it's in her car
-Octopus Tshirt  (lolwhut, here proof), gave one to lucy_hp , mine is in the washing machine.
-various clearfiles, often gave them away to people I knew liked that series
-plastic sheet-things used to separate sections in the larger folders. Mine are in my Japanese folder.

The German publishers don't do anything as fancy (but they have Japanese magazine furoku at conventions, that's also neat). French fans are quite lucky to get these things (mostly for free. Even if it says "buy 2 or 3 mangas and get ...", depending on whether the people at your local store know you well enough (AKA you spend so much moonies at their place) they'll give it to you for free. I usually get my stuff for free in Luxemburg.

If you hadn't already guessed: I collect these things like mad, but never actually use them. The bento boxes are too small, I already have a tumbler and a pen box, the seals yeah I'm not 12 anymore. I occasionally use the mini notes, but only because I don't like the series it's based on or because I have 2 of them haha.

And for next week.. every blog I follow seems to post shelf pictures o_O And since it's been a while since I showed you my storage (figures aside) I'll do that next week but I need to tidy up before then
