Interlude#2 - I couldn't help but giggle...
Setting: After European History exam,
GirlA: Damn, I couldn't think of a proper example for 19th century civil wars ;A;
GirlB: HOW COULD YOU!! American Secession war of course, 1861-1865, IT WAS IN WOLVERINE!
....
In GirlA's defense, the movie didn't put a date on the wars. Testing your military uniform savy. Uniform-dork here obviously knew it immediately.
Apropos, I noticed many were puzzled by the Wolverine OP and didn't recognize the American civil war. You can't really blame us though, all we get here is EUROPEAN history. This is how much we know about America;
1492: Discovery of America. Prior to this, it didn't exist.
Somewhen: It becomes English colony
1773: ROW ROW FIGHT DA POWER the taxes, and they have a mad tea party in Boston
Then we send fancy-pants Lafayette over to save the day. As a thank you they solve our clusterfuck in 1945.
2001: Apocalypse now.
2009: Yes we can.

How did you like my potted history of America?
I almost expected someone to mention Hetalia. But nay. And I did mention the Secession war (not the mutants tho D: ). And Doomsday clock (hur hur Watchmen). I always get bonus marks for mentionning stuff like that (and I bloody need them bonus; as I don't get many marks on the rest^^;;) Overall, I think I did quite well.
One more reason to reward myself with a second viewing of XMOW after the finals. Snikt!
