Actually I don't even like Halloween^^; This is an American tradition, not an European one, and it does not feel familiar at all and I don't feel the need to celebrate it. Of course I genuinely wish everyone a happy halloween and truly hope they have fun because I respect everyone's traditions, but it's no big deal for me.
The children here don't need it either since we have a very own celebration, the 2nd of February, "Marialiichtmesdaag" during which kids go with self-made lanterns from door to door, sing a specific song and get candies. It is originally meant to bring the light ("liicht") into the homes after a long winter. I think this tradition is even a little poetic.
Moreoever, I don't like horror movies (no SPN does not count) or dressing up parties so I'll spend the evening at home writing on my 5 oage essay which is due for tomorrow (nope, no holidays for me) or browse YT for every single AMV ever done to "This is Halloween" XD
