Well, so far it looks like everyone that I know has successfully made it into the New Year, even if they are a few pounds heavier from the merriment of the Holidays. It's all good :)
This year seems to bring about promise to a lot of people including myself. It appears to be a lot ending chapters giving way to the next segment of someone's story - whether it be for school, work or life stage. Things seem to be taking it a step up for most people.
For me personally it means a huge life change. It dawned on me the other day that I really only have 6 months until I get married and I panicked a tiny bit. And its not because I'm getting cold feet (although because the work building is freezing my feet are cold, but that's besides the point)! Rather I panicked because I feel like I'm behind the bridal train for so many things. I was fortunate enough to find my dress last while my folks were visiting and my mother in law helped in that regard as well.
That brought about much relief, but there are so many more things to consider like flowers and save the dates and invites and favors and other fun things of that nature. Right now I would say that the next most important thing is finding an officiant to perform the ceremony - yeah, that's kind of a big thing to be lacking at the moment. Luckily, the New Year has kicked my butt enough already to get me started on that topic. So far, I have a short list of people to choose from that the venue gave us and I'm coming up with questions for their interviews. Before I do that I'm going to see if I can find any information about them online so I know what I'm getting into before I call them. It is destined to be an adventure!
Is still have to ask my bridesmaids to be in my party, which I guess means they aren't my bridesmaids yet :P
With the wedding comes everyone's idea of dieting because they want to look good in the photos. I would personally live to lose 20lbs but I'm a.bit hesitant because the dress fit at the store, and i want it to still fit me at the wedding, buy I guess it's also easier to remove fabric instead of adding fabric when it comes to alterations.
Things will work out fine. For me and for everyone that I know. But for now the wedding adventure continues!
Hopefully, my next post will have an update about the wedding, resolutions and reflection on last years goals :)
