I was about to cry when I read that first sentence DDDD: and while reading the rest after, I was expecting him to croak.

I think I will cry and still laud you for evoking such a reaction XD

Well, missy, as much as the ending here got a similar tone for the Perfect Ending choice for Final Fantasy X-2, the fic does raise some questions such as: who was the friend that Cloud/Steve was hoping to win the game money for? (unless there's already an answer for this in a previous chapter that I missed ^^;; )

So, does this mean that Cloud was able to achieve what Kadaj wasn't able to and became one with the internet or something? Is that how he was able to manipulate computerized items? Interesting premise.

I think I'm really craving more interactions between Cloud and Zack, especially their background together. At this point, as much I love the Cloud/Tifa togetherness, the Cloud-Zack history is really intriguing. Ah well.

Brilliantly written all throughout with a very compelling hook in case there's a continuation at some point (*prays*)

LOL - awwww, would I do that to my readers and kill their beloved Cloud off? But I'm glad the thought was there to ramp up the emotion in the story.

I had a creative writing teacher in high school who once told me, always start your stories out with a bang and always leave three minor mysteries unsolved. I try to do that when I write and so far it seems to work well. You're the first person to remember the friend Cloud needed the money for. Maybe it's a ware buddy? Maybe it's the uncle that took him in? I don't know. I honestly thought it was going to be White in a wheelchair but it turned out he wasn't. You're right on point with Cloud and the internet. I was surprised when it came out that way - it took the characters long enough to tell me what was going on! And no, no continuation that I'm aware of at this point. That was one hard story to write and the muses have gone silent on me. Which is a relief in a way because - dang, that was a slog trying to get them to tell me what was going on in the first place for the entire story. lol - dang pesky mute muses. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. I'm glad it's finally complete but it was a heck of a lot of fun to write and drag everyone kicking and screaming along for ;)
