SPOILER SPACE
Fred, you guys. FRED. I can't even speak. I will be crying for fucking days.
*willfully changes subject*
AHAHAHAHAHA VOLDEMORT IS A HARMONIAN. I *refuse* to believe that was not JKR poking fun at the lunatic fringe.
LOCKET OF HARMONIAN EVIL FTW.
Dean/Luna! Also, LUNA WILL TOTALLY BECOME A WANDMAKER. She's Ollivander's buddy now!
Speaking of Luna, how awesome was it that she, Ginny and Neville took over the MOTHERFUCKING HOGWARTS RESISTANCE MOVEMENT. I had always figured Snape was on Dumbledore's side, and it was obvious early on when he punished them by sending them to HAGRID.
The WWII parallels are flying fast and furious, and I love it. Partisans and sabotage and betrayal and safe houses and and and!
That said, I wanted more ONSCREEN badass Ginny. :( But Hermione is *so* badass it's heartbreaking. Her parents. Oh, Hermione.
Neville! ILU! And your GRAN! The old women are seriously cool in this book.
Percy, oh. Okay, no, stopping right now because.
Hey, Kreacher rules!
Snape/Lily! Dude, so obvious. Still, I liked it lots.
This book is way heavy on the infodumps, isn't it?
"NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!" :D :D :D
Aberforth fucks goats and it's TOTALLY CANON. There are not words to express that awesomeness.
Rooooooooooooon. And he and Neville get to wield the sword!
The epilogue pretty much sucked; I mean, I was glad that the trio + Ginny and Neville (and Percy!) were all there and healthy, and paired off happily, but I'm not too keen on OMG LOTSA BEHBEHS. OTOH, Draco's RECEDING HAIRLINE made me laugh myself sick.
Narcissa! Saving him! That was a neat mirror to the beginning of the book, where Harry's act of mercy (with Stan Shunpike) cost them dearly, but his rescue of Draco saves his ass here. Harry's done that all along -- Wormtail! -- but I liked the way it bookended this story.
GOYLE SPEAKS, YOU GUYS. And no more Crabbe. :(
