So. Catching up.

Last-last Tuesday (the 26th), I went to the Baseball game with a couplea' co-workers and a customer. Was great fun! Would've been greater fun, if we'd, y'know, not been flattened 0-12. Watching Glo-the-obsessive-fan glower at the game was entertaining, though.

Still don't know if I like the new stadium. The construction zone back there's changed not at all in a year, though ::sigh::

Glo frowning at the game. She looked like that all night, when she wasn't fuming at people getting up and blocking her view.

The "Do you think you'd like to throw strikes today?" talk.

Dance, Fredbird, dance!

On Friday, I got a surprise visitor. Who should walk in the door as I'm closing out but my Navy friend who's stationed in New Orleans. I think he loves doing that with no warning, since I'm always like "What are you doing here?" Due to the evacuation, he just drove all the way home.

Sunday was the Japanese fest, which I always love. More for the getting to see everyone, at this point. This time accompanied by previously mentioned Navy man, yay! Not much changes year to year, aside from the crowd, which gets bigger every time. Well, no. There were a few new stands, one of which sold nice wooden swords. Really, next year we should go in the evening, both to see all the things we never stay for, and to avoid suffering heatstroke like we always do - this time included. It was really bad this time, ended up crashing on the couch for like 5 hours afterwards.

A lot of the displays looked familiar after 5 years of coming, but this one was new.

And this Ikebana's a bit different.

Swordity-sword sword.

We caught some of the Aikido demonstration, which was awesome. The second guy we saw was especially funny, with comments like "This kind of distance ::gestures to the space between him and his partner:: just doesn't happen." And "He's not gonna stand here for a second, waiting for me to go..." ::Looks down at where he's being grabbed:: I missed some of it, but I got a good deal of the final presenter on video ::grin::

Then yesterday, despite it being one of those amazing, vanishing day off kinda days, I still managed to run out to the store and get my oh-so-shiny copy of Supernatural Season 3, complete with mini-Impala. How much of a dork am I that the Impala was really what I was buying it for? I mean, I coulda waited on the DVD's, but I wasn't sure the car would be there later, so it had to be now.

Mini-Impala and Faux-Impala atop the monitor.

Unfortunately, there seems to be something wrong with one of it's wheels. Now that I've noticed, I can't un-notice, and it bothers me. I think I might be able to fix it, but I fear screwing it up worse... I'll leave off for now.

Oh, and the official version of the Dr Horrible soundtrack is awesome. It was worth getting iTunes(boo! Hiss!) just for it.
