Super Tuesday

As far as Kansas is concerned it was a Super Cluster.  I got to my site at 5:30; there was already a line.  Around 6:45 I finally got to sign my name in and they didn’t have it.  This happened to 5 other people around me.  The excuse, they must have gotten an old list, from when the ‘90’s?  So I had to stand in another line to re register.  I did leave a nasty note on the bottom of the form along with the postmark on my current voter card.
The fire code only allowed 250 people in so we had to caucus in ‘shifts’.  I am sorry but doesn’t that defeat the purpose of the whole process?  I was in the first ‘shift’ since I got in line a half hour early and was out of there by 7:45.  When I pulled out there was a line of people waiting, in the cold, over 2 blocks long.  The police had roads blocked off; it was a total disorganized mess.  Sadly this was not the worst horror story I heard from people at other precincts.  This morning on NPR they said they expected 250 in my district and over 2,000 showed up.
If this shows the general state of the KSDP, then no wonder KS is a red state.  They should rename the Kansas Caucus the “Kansas, stand in line like lemmings, be counted and get out so the next group can come in”.

So my first experience in a caucus was a huge disappointment.  I will be writing my reps today demanding a primary next election.

On a lighter note, I sold my old car yesterday.  And that is one less thing I have to mess with.   I was warned about a failing of my new car this morning, frozen doors.  A lady I work with has the same model and said that during the ice storm a few years ago she could only open the hatch and crawl in.  Fortunately it just took one good hip check to crack the ice this morning.  I won’t even go into the state of the roads.

Not much else, except looking forward to Friday night since that is the only night this week I will be able to go home right after work if I choose.

**Edit**  If you could, please say a little prayer today.  The mall, Hickory Hills that was hit by the tornado in Germantown, TN is about 5 miles away from my Aunt Alyce’s house and the phone lines are down.  Just a little worried this morning.

**Edit** Thanks for the good thoughts all of mine are accounted for and fine except for no power.  :-)
