My first SNY flight

Just got back from Sydney yesterday! Enjoyed the experience as my colleagues were kind and helpful, particularly lucky that I got great mentors for both the ex-SIN and return sectors. My legs are aching like MAD now though... staying on your feet for 7+ hours in the air, stacked with heavy trays, meandering down the aisles through turbulence in really no joke. Especially while suffering from sleep deficiency... I was awake for a staight 35-hour stretch before we reached our hotel, swiped off all the makeup & hair wax and crashed into bed for a 2-hour nap. I would have slept longer, but was awoken by hunger pangs... lay in the nice fluffy bed a while pondering over whether to wake my dreaming buddy. By 1plus I could take it no longer, so I dragged her out for lunch nearby and we then proceeded to Paddy Market/ Chinatown. Weather was lovely, sunny with a cool crisp breeze... perfect walking conditions. :) Shopped a little while waiting for Lyn's friend to join us, but I bought nothing despite walking into Jayjays & several sale outlets for Mambo, Esprit etc.(To my dismay, post-trip calculations show I spent about AU$50+ on little more than just food! :/) At night, San & SJTML came in from a later flight and joined us for a kebab supper. By midnight it was about time for us to hit the sack, and I was in dreamland by 1am... only to be woken by my very persistent phone alarm at 5am. @_@
Anyway, I suppose the adrenaline from all the excitement over our first SNY (this stands for supernumerary btw) allowed me to zip thru all our ground & flight duties without falling asleep, and the rushing around did make time seem to pass really fast. After touching down on local soil again, Lyn & I decided to share a cab, since Al stays so near her. I took the liberty of colonising Al's bed while he was still out at work, slept for a solid 2 hours before he returned and we headed to town for a meal&movie. We caught Hitch... was a nice lighthearted, no-deep-thoughts type show... good for days when your brain is still floating 35,000 feet above ground. :)
Okies, that's all for my first flight "report"! I need to go get some errands done before I fly to Tokyo early tomorrow morning! How exciting... my long-awaited, first-ever trip to Japan and I'll only be there for a total of about 25 hours!
