(no subject)
I'm not sure if I mentioned this already, but gemma phoned me a week or two ago to ask if I could take in an injured rodent her neighbour had found under her brother's car. They suspected it was a gerbil, but when she got here it turned out that what she had brought me was a wild field mouse!
I gave it antibiotics I had for the chickens and within a couple of days she was fine. I planned to release her in a nearby field last weekend, but when I got back from the festival, I went to her cage to see that she was gone! I've never lost an animal like that before. I still have no idea how she got out of a locked hamster cage.
I thought she was gone for good, but today I left some food out in the pet room, to find that it had all gone when i returned from work. Then this evening I saw her run across the floor when I opened the door! I think I'll have to buy a humane mouse trap soon.
