Dr. Demento
Ooops, I forgot to mention that Dr. Demento was going to be on at 7:00 on KMET day on The Sound! A little late for that now, huh? :/
What's your favorite Dr. D song? I used to listen religiously when I was about twelve but then I got too cool for that soon after. I had the chance to meet him on my way into Rocky once when I was a brand new cast member (because I remember that we had just started wearing screen accurate tranny costumes, and we we were still considered "not really cast"). That's right, I was the second in command when the trannys made a manifesto, protest song and revolution to become full-fledged cast members in Sins and we enforced real tranny costumes. But anyway, this was 1988 and we were super early, no Rocky people were at the theater yet and whatever event Dr. Demento was attending was still inside when he made his escape, so there was really no one else around except us in front of the Nuart. It's weird to be addressed by a famous person without prompting, and that voice! I'll never forget what he said to us:
"Great Transylvanians!", with emphasis on like, every syllable.
