Sometimes when I wake up and turn on the radio I get a portent of how the day is going to go, and this morning it was Long Time by Boston (love me some classic rock). What a perfect song for the day, this is the day we celebrate twenty fucking years at Sins. I found myself clapping and singing along and glad for all the friends I have made in this life.
For the last month or two I have been excavating my garage looking for long lost photos, rare material and anything worthy of sharing with my fellow alumni on this great night. I hope you won`t be disappointed. It`s been my pleasure to bring photos and documents of the cast`s history to Alumni Night for the last eleven years and have either done or helped with the casting all of those times. We bring back performers from our rich history to grace the Nuart stage once again and show everyone the wide variety of skills, chops and creativity we have been known for this long. Sure, it was a Rocky start; we had to make it from scratch and we made it into a beautiful thing. I am proud of my part I played while a performer, leader, and now historian to have such a wonderful gem that is Rocky Horror at the Nuart.
And what a party we have! The young and old, new and seasoned come together as a family to reminisce and share stories and relive The Good Old Days and share many a cocktail. I`m grateful to those who are still carrying the torch and I am ever thankful for my stupendous luck in making so many friends for life doing Rocky. Here`s to many more! ::cheers::
I love this photo because it has two of the best performers in it with me, and one flash in the pan. It's all scratched up because I put it on a postcard and sent it to New York for a Rocky Horror contest they were having and some dumb ass sent it back to me instead of the contest.
