“I need to speak to Charles. Where is he?”
The boys looked up from where they are crowded around a board game. Of course, trust Raven to be absent when Miss Lehnsherr is demanding the Prof’s attention.
Alex and Sean glance at each other before turning to Hank, spurring the scientist into speaking up for them. “I guess he’s in his room? Agent McTaggert went out with Raven for supplies,” the bespectacled boy answers, letting out a puff of air when Erika stops giving them the iron glare and replaces it with a indiscernible look. “It’s the furthest room on the east wing.”
With a nod, Erika leaves the boys to their game and makes her way towards Charles’ room. It isn’t too hard to find it; the other room doors are open save one, and Erika walks right up to it and opens the door without knocking.
“Charles, I wish to have a word with you, do you have- ah.”
The tall woman stops short as Charles makes a very indignant squeaking sound before reaching for his robe, but it is too late. Erika has seen everything of Charles, something she isn’t privy to until now.
“Charles,” Erika tries again, moving in towards the shorter one after closing the door behind her. “You have breasts.”
Charles squeaks again (Erika admits later that she finds the squeaking cute, like the little labrat Charles is), face flushed as he stammers broken apologies. “Erika, you should have knocked! I wasn’t ready- you shouldn’t- I was waiting for Raven- don’t be mad at me?”
When Charles finds nothing but curious thought-tendrils coming in waves from his partner, he sighs and wraps his robe around himself- herself, now that Erika knows. “I guess, you would find out sooner or later,” she mutters, blue eyes looking up guiltily at green. “My real name is Charlotte Francisca Xavier, and I have been living as a man for the past two decades.”
