We saw the shuttle last night!
I read on a blog that it would be visible over NZ for about a 3-minute window, so we went out to see what we could see. And we saw it - a bright light that came up from the horizon, and faded away before it even made it halfway across the arc of the sky. So I've seen the final voyage of the Atlantis shuttle, as well as the last shuttle voyage ever.
Which is a bit sad, really. It's the end of another era of spaceflight. And I'm still stuck here on earth.
