No spoilers

I'm done! Finished yesterday evening, actually, but I'm staying at Mum's place atm, so I spent last night being sociable instead of trawling the internet. And I spent the night before being sociable instead of reading, which was much harder. Otoh, we went out for my birthday dinner last night and the food was amazing, so it was mostly worth it.

I feel kind of... bereft now. I've been looking forward to the book for so long, and now I just want the next one, because I still want to know what happens next. Write faster, GRRM, I need to know! I'll post my thoughts in a separate post so as not to spoil anyone, but it was a great read overall, and definitely better than AFFC, imho.

I've spent the last few days staying at Mum's, and spending more time with my sister, which was great. (Also: avoiding the internet. No spoilers for me!). We went out for dinner for my birthday last night, to a new restaurant where we had the degustation menu, and tried all sorts of things that I never would have ordered for myself - tuna tartare and blood sausage tortellini chief among those - and also had some tamer dishes, including lamb, pork belly, and a pecan and salted caramel tart. It was all absolutely lovely, and I seem to have developed quite a taste for blood sausage, which I expected to be revolting, but really wasn't. So now I've been out to dinner for my birthday twice in the last few weeks - one of the benefits of having a split family that I'm more than happy to take advantage of XD

Speaking of my birthday, thank you so much to everyone for their birthday wishes, especially lily_fayline, awry and truebornstark, who all gave me v-gifts, and between them quadrupled the number of v-gifts that I had. So exciting!

Apart from that, I've pretty much just been waiting for the book to arrive, then reading it. More on that soon...
