A little rant or review from kitrina23...

Hey fellow lj peeps,
Sorry I haven't posted alot lately. Got distracted by Xanthe's The X-Files 24/7 fic, with Skinner/Mulder. It's her basic outline to her Two Masters fic, an NCIS Gibbs/DiNozzo- The X-Files Skinner/Mulder crossover fic. I LOVE both, and am saving 24/7 to WordPad so I can read it when my mind sidetracks from the net from time to time. I've also read most of the fandoms that I love of thetenthmuse1's arsenal- and she has alot. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE her Romanology series with Medical Investigation, CSI, CSI: NY, Without a Trace, NCIS, JAG, and The X-Files- although she needs to add more to all seven. I'm also hoping she would start House, MD Romanology too. That'll be epic. There's also more I'd ask of her, but none I can think of at this moment since I'm focused on 24/7 right now.

Now, onto my rant: I hate having Crohn's disease. I'm part German, and in stating that, I MISS SAUERKRAUT (I think that's how it's spelled... I'll correct it when I'm awake later), I MISS SOUR BEEF & DUMPLINGS (CABBAGE is not allowed for me to be consumed ;_;) and I MISS COLESLAW (altho technically it's not a German dish, I had just gotten used to eating coleslaw before the diagnosis, & since the diagnosis- I'm starting to miss it terribly. I never liked it growing up b/c when it was served to me, somehow I tasted horseraddish in it, and I KNOW what horseraddish tastes like- shrimp cocktail sauce. But when I became an adult, I began eating the correctly made coleslaw dish, and am sorely missing it ;_;) That being said, I also can't have the other following: more than half a glass of milk, broccoli, caffeine, tuna fish in OIL, cheese wantons (others call 'em crab rangoons, I prefer calling 'em cheese wantons...), fried/greasy foods, McDonald's cheeseburgers/hamburgers, ice-cream (I substituted Orange Sherbert for all ice-cream since there's not a trace of milk in it), other desserts with ice-cream in it/on top of it, potato skin (no danger there- never ate the skin unless my mom made her morning home fries), onions (minced excluded- have no trouble with minced), garlic (I MISS GARLIC ;_; *mourns* I ate minced garlic in my tuna sandwich all the time before- but I can't now b/c it hurts to eat it and I'm not tempting it ever again- once was enough...) [Minced onions took over for minced garlic]

For those of you who are new to my friends list and don't understand, I have Crohn's disease. It's Irritible Bowel Syndrome at it's most painful. Trust me. I was in the hospital for eight days, and four of those days I was in agony. I'm on Pentasa. I don't have Medical Assistance (Social Services on Biddle St. denied me for some stupid reason...) so I can't get the $2500 weekly shot I'm supposed to get. Doc said he'd placed me on Pentasa as a substitute until I can get it. Everybody's asked me to reapply for it, but since the first time, I've been truly pissed that I was denied. I was denied a grant for college when I had applied for it back in '04/'05 after I graduated High School. So I feel like there's a pattern. Mom asked me to apply for an Independence Card after the denied college grant, and I told her 'no way'. So sayeth the pattern-theory. I can't have certain foods with this disease. It's painful to go through a flare up- I've had 2 since the diagnosis, the first at my brother's again during Thanksgiving weekend b/c I forgot to bring my extra pills for the next day. The second happened between Christmas and President's Day (can't remember the exact day...) while I was coming home from dinner- although I had taken my pill BEFORE dinner which was in my pill taking schedule I made... so I wound up taking another pill to relieve the pain along side eating a Gas-X tablet to alleviate the gas build up- the main cause to the stomach cramps.

Note: I was in the hospital 7/05/09 until 7/13/09. Crazy thing was, I also had Otakon weekend the following weekend, so I had to sneak in my own food into the Convention Center. I couldn't NOT go. I already preregistered the month before. My mom paid for my way. I had an okay time, but I had to do alot of sitting, which sucked b/c I wanted to walk- I was an active walker growing up thanks to my mom taking her kids EVERYWHERE in Baltimore City. She's our walking road map. Seriously. Ask her how to get to Fells Point and she'd give you driving directions and walking directions. Inner Harbor too. Went to the Aquarium alot. Baltimore Zoo, Patterson Park, Science Theater, Patterson Park Movie Theater, and other obscure places. The con' this year was outranked by 2004. B/c 2005 until now were sad. All due to what happened in '05- had my backpack, which contained close to $200 merchandise, my journal, state ID, wallet-keys, & a $300 digital camera in it, stolen while I was at the Rave center. (It's called 'Otakurave'). I had my wallet-keys returned only. Had to replace my camera and state ID. My SO replaced the camera on my birthday that year. I actually cried when I opened the box. I had a police report filed so I could get my state ID replaced and to have as record of what was stolen. All my well-taken pix are gone from that year. Someone also has my friends' numbers and e-mail addresses, my drawings/doodles, and my rants in that journal. The backpack was green, old and drawn on. ICP (Insane Clown Posse), and 'All your base are belong to us' were the two phrases that stood out the most on it. I did those phrases, the 'All your base...' as the internet joke-song I like. It sucked the rest of the years since, knowing I can't dance without someone watching my backpack. Besides, my dancing partner is in Hawaii, and she's in college. So no more raving for little ol' me.

End of my complaint/rant/review for now, peeps. I'm about ready to drop off to sleep.
