I watched Citizen Kane today. I vaguely understand why it is so technically incredible, particularly compared to its contemporary films. And certainly it was good. But I was met with a desire to read a couple theoretical pieces about it, since I think that would go a long way towards directing my perceptions. I guess maybe I can find something in some random database.

I am very happy because my family all went off to the Outer Banks today and I am alone to eat what I want, drink what I want, and do what I want. And after the whole summer, this is thrilling.
