Takanori makes the mistake of hanging around his old school and Akira takes interest.
Takanori didn’t much like people. Not because he had anything against them personally, but because he knew that in the end, they wouldn’t like him. The few friends he did have while he was in school had quit talking to him once he opened up to them. So he gave up on trying.

Being home was weird. Takanori didn’t like it. It had been hard, the first few weeks, getting used to things. Though he knew his father was gone, he was still worried the man would charge out of his den, yelling about something Takanori had done to upset him. It still hurt, looking into the room his father had spent most of his time in and seeing nothing. He wasn’t there, flipping through his books or smoking his pipe, filling the house with the scent of cherry tobacco. Takanori hadn’t realized how much he would miss him. Guilt still rolled around in his stomach, causing him to break down more than once. There were a few times his mother had to call Akira just to get him to calm down.

“I’m worried about him,” she told the blonde over tea one day. “I didn’t think he would take it this hard.”

Akira said nothing, only reached out a hand for the woman. She took it and gave him a soft smile.

“I’m glad he has you. Since he met you, he’s so different. He doesn’t hide himself as much. He’s growing.”

Akira bit his lip, not sure how to respond.

“It’s not a secret you know,” the woman said with a knowing smile. “I know how he feels about you. It’s hard not to miss. And from what I see, you feel the same. I’m glad.”

“I-”

“No need to explain. I’m just glad he found someone he can be open with. Thank you Akira.” With that she got up and started working on dinner, nodding her head in the direction of Takanori’s room.

Akira found the boy curled up on the bed, clinging to a tattered stuffed bear. His cheeks were stained with tears and his face was flushed.

“Taka,” Akira said, sitting on the bed beside him. He reached out and put a hand on the boy’s back. “You don’t look like you’re doing so well.”

Takanori remained silent, biting at his lip. He took in a shaky breath and let it out slowly, reaching back to grab Akira’s hand. Their fingers intertwined and Takanori pulled the other down, making him lay beside him. Akira didn’t resist. He wrapped an arm around Takanori’s waist and pulled him to his body, kissing at the back of his head. A shiver went through the smaller boy, his body warming at Akira’s touch. He turned, tilting his head to look up at the other. The pair lay there for a moment, lost in each other’s eyes. Takanori reached out, running his fingers through Akira’s blonde strands. Without warning, he pulled the other to him, crushing their lips together in a kiss.

Akira was caught off guard, but quickly gave in to the other’s hungry mouth. Takanori kissed him with such fervor, his passion burning into Akira. A moan came from the back of his throat as he ran his hands down the other’s back, nails digging into the cotton shirt. Akira pulled back, his breathing heavy and uneven.

“Taka, w-what are you-”

“Shut up.”

Takanori sat up and pushed the other down, climbing on top of him. He looked down, his gaze heated.

“Taka…”

“Don’t talk Akira. Just go with it. Don’t think. React.”

“But what are you-”

“I said shut up.” Takanori pushed his lips to Akira’s once more, biting down just hard enough to make the other wince. He ran his hands up down Akira’s chest, tugging the hem of his shirt up, revealing the toned muscles of his stomach and chest. Akira was still unsure of what was going on, but he could feel himself getting excited. An involuntary sigh escaped the older boy’s mouth. Takanori moved his lips from Akira’s down to his neck, then to his collar bone, letting his teeth nip at the skin as he went. Before long, Takanori had worked Akira’s tee over his head. The boy folded it and placed it on his night stand. Akira watched with a raised brow.

“You… are so weird.”

“Fuck you.”

Akira bit his tongue, deciding it was best not to state that it seemed that was in fact what Takanori had planned. He chuckled and reached up, pulling the boy down for another kiss. He was letting himself do what Takanori said, react instead of thinking, and the pressure against his hips was only driving these reactions further.

There was a knock on the door and both boys shot up, looking back.

“Takanori, I’m going out for a bit. There’s stew on the stove if you’re hungry.”

“O-okay ma. Have fun.” The boy had to grit his teeth to suppress his laughter. He watched the door, expecting the handle to turn, but it never did. He heard the front door open and close and relaxed, looking back to Akira. His eyes moved over the other’s body, his lips curving up into a smirk. He had never seen Akira shirtless. At least, not so close up. The lines in his abs were delicious, accenting his shape perfectly. Takanori bent down to kiss on the toned skin, letting his tongue trace the contours of the muscles. Akira’s body reacted with shivers and he squirmed under Takanori’s weight.

The younger ran his index finger along Akira’s waist and he raised his eyes, a devilish look on his face.

“Taka, are you sure-”

“How many times do I have to tell you to shut up?”

That was the last time. Akira didn’t question anymore. He let Takanori do as he pleased. The world around them disappeared, melting into body heat, sensual breathing, spine tingling kisses. Akira thought about how this wasn’t as awkward as it should be and how Takanori seemed to know exactly what he was doing, but didn’t think on it too much. The things Takanori was doing with his hands were too big of a distraction.

Everything was hot, like someone had set fire to the room. Takanori cast a spell on Akira, leaving his usual thoughts and morals as mere specks in the back of his mind. They kissed and touched and moaned. Clothing was cast aside, Takanori only half attempting to keep things neat. Akira reached out to remove the smaller boy’s shirt, but was stopped.

“No,” was all Takanori said. Akira didn’t question this; not out loud at least. He was disappointed, but certain things could wait. There was no doubt in his head that this would be happening again. He would get what he wanted then. This was Takanori’s time.

“Wait,” Akira finally said, breaking away from the other. Takanori sighed loudly, making sure Akira knew he was getting annoyed. “I just… I want to tell you this before, so you don’t think I don’t mean it.”

“What are you going on about?”

“I… I think I love you Taka.”

Takanori’s eyes widened, his lips parting to whisper another “shut up”, this time because he didn’t know how else to respond.

“I mean it. You mean more to me than anyone has and I just wanted you to know.” Akira chuckled nervously, not sure what to expect from the younger boy. It took a moment for Takanori to reply and when he finally did, there was a gentle smile on his lips. He leaned over, placing his mouth against Akira’s ear.

“Then show me.”

Akira did.

---

They were at a café, sipping on hot chocolate. Yuu had called saying he wanted to do something. Given the current weather, they decided to meet up and just talk. Takanori and Akira had moved their chairs closer together, not being able to resist glancing at one another every few minutes, both smiling each time their eyes met. Yuu watched them, his face twisted in confusion.

“You guys are acting weird,” he stated, crossing his arms. Yuu didn’t like feeling confused. He liked feeling left out even less. “What happened?”

The couple looked at one another again and burst out laughing. Akira looked back to Yuu and shook his head.

“Don’t worry about it,” he said, squeezing Takanori’s hand under the table.

“You guys are no fun,” Yuu said with a pout.

Takanori leaned over and whispered something into Akira’s ear, making the other blush. Yuu watched, his eyes narrow. He noted how the two hadn’t gone a minute without touching, how flirtatious they were being. His eyes went wide when it finally dawned on him.

“Oh my god.. You guys, you didn’t? You did! Oh my god!”

Takanori and Akira looked at him, neither saying a word.

“Look at you guys, you have that guilty look on your faces. Oh my god.”

Takanori bit his lip, trying not to laugh. Akira looked away, his face burning.

“Ok, ok. Don’t admit to it. But I know,” Yuu said, waving a finger in their direction. After a moment, he leaned over the table and lowered his voice to a whisper. “What was it like?”

Akira looked back at him, eyes wide. The blonde reached out and smacked his friend playfully on the head. Takanori doubled over with laughter, Yuu and Akira joining in.

“Yuu,” Akira said, “grow up.”
