I'm tired. Ask me why I'm tired. Go on. Ask.
"Jo, why are you tired?"
Thank you, self... I am tired because I spent all day in the studio. It's official. RagTag Elite has begun the recording process!!!
Sis and I headed over to Master Shredder's around 11:30 this morning so we could then proceed to the studio. The guy what runs the place and who is recording us this Sunday invited us to come in to get the pre-recording and level check out of the way. For free! ^.^ It was fricken sweet. In only 4 hours we managed to record the guitar, bass, and vox for all four tracks to get the foundation down. ....But not in that order. >.<* Nope. I had to go first... Logically if the bass line is in place, you can build up from there. [Btw: I LOVE being a bassist. ^.~] I've only ever really done session work a few times, and that was really only for two tracks... So getting to sit there in the booth, alone with the click track... ........It was fucking magical. I took a short break after I got two of the songs down, and then went right back to work. Managed to get all my stuff done in an hour, or so, and helped Shredder with the akward timing of some of the music. ........See... For those that don't know the experience... WORKING WITH A FUCKING CLICK TRACK IS TORTURE!!!!!!! ^.^* But is cool. We did it. The pre-master is sitting in my stereo, right now. And, according to the sound tech, we were so efficient that we can easily knock out the whole demo more quickly than originally estimated. Squee!!!
I'm so happy with today's work, and I KNOW that after Sunday we will have one kick ass demo.
....The depressing thought of today is: ...Realizing that I don't have a significant other to call and gloat to... *le sigh* I'm sure you understand what I mean... I could call all my friends, but they actually care... ^.^* It's not fun that way. S'cool, though. Phase one, record demo. Phase two.... ....Phase three, get tail.
