Supergirl/MCU Fic: Mislead
This is a 210 word Supergirl/MCU drabble for the Numbers Challenge at 1_million_words This is part of the buddy cop series National City's Best Cops. ENJOY!!
All it took to get Lucy Lane back to normal-or as normal as she ever could be-- was eight hundred and seventy hours of forensic hypnotic therapy.
Kara shook her head at her partner, “Nat, don’t be ridiculous! It was thirty six days of the most intensive anti-conditioning treatment I’ve ever seen in my life.”
At fist, Lois was convinced that all she had to do to get through to Lucy was to talk to her about their shared childhood, but Lucy kept spouting the word salad she’d been indoctrinated with by the Sisters of Eternal and Immaculate Joy and Lois quickly grew frustrated.
It was General Lane’s suggestion that they needed a cult deprogrammer and he turned out to be correct. Yes, Lucy would still need months of therapy but she was on the right road to thinking for herself and not letting a cult leader speak for her.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” The minute Natasha heard Lucy whisper those words, she knew Lucy was finally breaking free and seeing the truth.
Nat and Kara exchanged relieved glances while Lois’ tear filled eyes met her sister’s sorrowful ones. “Luce, it’s good to have you back.”
