Spider-Man Fic: The Ossuary
This is a 250 word Spider-Man drabble featuring a female Peter Parker for the Weekend Challenge at 1_million_words ENJOY!
Penny looked her two closest friends in the eye, not wanting to sugarcoat what they were about to undertake. “Where we’re going is not going to be pleasant, it’s actually going to be fairly horrifying so if you want out, now’s the time to say.”
MJ and Ned exchanged quick glances before MJ answered for the both of them. “You know we’re in.”
Ned nodded, grinning in anticipation. “So what’s the game plan?”

“So I’m guessing we’re not going to the catacombs in Paris, then?”
MJ’s sardonic voice cut through the tension in the group, making both Penny and Ned laugh but Mr. Stark just quirked a single eyebrow.
“Close,” Mr. Stark said, “we’re going to Newark.”
Sighing in mock annoyance, Penny shook her head at her mentor but it was MJ’s cool response that once again surprised everyone.
“Ah yes, the catacombs at St. Joseph’s Church, “ MJ muttered and before anyone could ask she simply shrugged. “They’re fairly gruesome tombs, of course I’d know about their existence.”
It was Penny’s idea to do their history project about ancient burial places, but she didn’t want to do the standard report on Rome; instead, she decided to look into America’s version of the underground cemeteries.
Any Catholic worth their salt already knew about the catacombs underneath the oldest section of St. Patrick’s cathedral but it was the subterranean graves underneath Newark’s St. Joseph Catholic church that were considered the most macabre.
Of course that’s where Penny wanted to go.
