My dad, the show Elementary and my thoughts :)

Today would have been my dad’s 70th birthday. So to celebrate, my mom and I are going to see the play “Rope.”  My dad loved a good mystery story, and this is a definite classic that he would have loved.

I’m also massively proud of the Detroit Tigers for sweeping the Yankees-YEAH!!

And lastly, last night’s episode of Elementary was absolutely fantastic.

I like that Holmes and Watson are slowly becoming friends and starting to understand each other and I especially like that she’s helping him with the investigations.  Holmes is starting to rely on her input and it’s interesting to see that he’s almost grateful to have Watson there to discuss the case-this is groundbreaking because he is definitely used to working alone.

I also like that in every version I’ve ever seen, Holmes has always had this inherent sense of justice.  Yes, he enjoys a clever puzzle to pull apart but in the end, he wants to catch the criminals because they’ve hurt and destroyed people and they need to be punished for their actions.   HIs reaction to Adam's playing him were incredibly well done and I love that Holmes got him in the end by using Adam's very actions against him.

And lastly, I like that we’ve gotten the NYC versions of Lestrade and Dr. Bell in the forms of Gregson and Det. Bell, but I also want Mrs. Hudson and Mycroft to make an appearance.  And of course it goes without saying that when Moriarty shows up it will be epic.
