I MAY HAVE SPOKEN TOO SOON THE OTHER DAY. AAAARRGH THE WORLD WILL END.

You remember when I was ranting about the ADVERT OF WRONG that is Gene Kelly breakdancing to Singin' In The Rain?? Remember how I said "At least no one's done anything like that to The Wizard of Oz or tried to remake it"?

This time they've gone too far...I love the Muppets ( Read more... )

After Muppets From Space I had to stop clinging to the thought that the Muppets were ever going to be funny again ever. Their latest Christmas movie SUCKED, and this is going to be... well, it's got Ashanti in it, need I say more?! There is also an obvious lack of my main man Frank Muthafuckin Oz, the only quality that prolonged my interest in newschool Muppet productions. How odd that you should find this while I am undergoing another of my Muppety phases... longing to watch the first and second movies over and over... and partake in some delightful viewing of Muppet Treasure Island with fellow Muppet-lover, Mister Luke, who is sadly yet to indulge in the pirate-y goodness of the aforementioned.
Oh dear, I feel ashamed of what Henson Productions has come to since the untimely passing of Mr. Henson... can't these people see that it's just not working for them? And, y'know, it certainly isn't the first time some contemporary re-working of The Wizard of Oz, featuring an African-American cast, has been produced. Who at Henson Productions is responsible for supplying the funding for this worthless project... seriously, how can they not realise that every film they release gets more ridiculous than the last... and not in a good, Old-fashioned Muppet way.

And thus concludes my extensive expository piece on the downfall of the Muppets... just for you.

*MARRIES YOU AND HAS YOUR MUPPETY BABIES.*

note: I just pictured, in my mind, Judy Garland literally spinning inside her grave, which was... weird...
