Oh good god why on earth did I even bother to borrow 'An Analysis of Syntactical Patterns in Old English' with such exciting Chapter headings as 'Prepositional Phrases: Patterns in the Clause'  and such elucidating senteces as 'The third is elliptical with the includer not expressed for the second clause in a series'  ?

Sometimes I despair.
