too much to hope for
I hope this current controversy over State-Sanctioned Murder (aka the Death Penalty) goes to the Supreme Court. And I hope the Supreme Court looks at facts instead of emotion, and realizes that State-Sanctioned Murder is barbaric. And I hope they outlaw it, just has it has been outlawed in EVERY OTHER WESTERN NATION. But I doubt it. Most US Citizens seem to think that the clause about "cruel and unusual" should be written right out of the constitution.
