Summer days drifting away...

So today it was 38 degrees. Very hot, very clear, very still. I spent most of the afternoon walking in the heat. I walked down two thirds of Chapel Street to buy Karl's birthday present and I ended up carrying a stack of magazines that would have weighed 5 or 6 kilos, all the way home. Then upon returning home, Karl and I packed all our washing up and walked 15 minutes to the laundromat, sat there for an hour and walked home. Then I cooked a massive dinner, and have only just sat down now.

This week Melbourne will experience the highest temperatures over the most consecutive days, in over 100 years. Tomorrow the weather will peak at 42 degrees and then it will be 40 degrees everyday until Monday. I am not looking forward to these extreme summer days. I am not looking forward to the trek out to Monash on Friday to get my ID either. I would prefer to remain inside until the first of March, the first day of Autumn. Although, I am looking forward to maybe getting a better idea of my book list by checking out the book shop out at uni.

Standing in the sun waving a balloon over my head would probably give me heat stroke and ultimately kill me. Not loving the idea of my moon tan disappearing either.

I hate summer. I hate summer.

weather, uni
