I've been immersing  myself in the Holmes fandom lately, and my comrade in arms directed me to these absolutely fantastic drawings, called Dr Watson's Inner Monologue, and they're beautiful and heartbreaking and oh. There are also links to a series of accompanying drabbles, which are well worth reading.
