the five people you meet in heaven

"had he known his death was imminent, he might have gone somewhere else. instead he did what we all do. he went about his dull routine as if all the days in the world were still to come."

"sacrifice is a part of life. it's supposed to be. it's not something to regret. it's something to aspire to."

"holding anger is a poison. it eats you from inside. we think that hating is a weapon that attacks the person who harmed us. but hatred is a curved blade. and the harm we do, we do to ourselves... no one is born with anger. and when we die, the soul is freed of it. but now, here, in order to move on, you must understand why you felt what you did, and why you no longer need to feel it."

"people say they 'find' love, as if it were an object hidden by a rock. but love takes many forms, and it is never the same for any man and woman. what people find then is a certain love...one that one knows, above all is, is irreplaceable. love, like rain, can nourish from above, drenching couples with a soaking joy. but sometimes, under the angry heat of life, love dries on the surface and must nourish from below, tending to its roots, keeping itself alive."

today marks a very profound day. i see people that i used to dislike and disrespect with a whole different aspect. instead of viewing them with contempt, i feel more compassion towards these people. it's not always a person's fault for doing something; some things in life you can't control. and no matter how much you absolutely hate it, there is nothing you can do to improve yourself. and i want so badly for other people to undergo the same experience that i went through today.

i am so grateful.
