Since I am nocturnal every vacation time, I should be sleeping right now since it's 3:03pm here... but I am quite disturbed... I guess in a neutral way... so I just had to write here...
So my best friend recommended me this book:
Reading it really left me quite stunned, speechless, shocked, in more ways than one... Though I should bear warnings about the book:
1. It's a suspense mystery book, but as a reader, I found it quite psychological... I'm not sure if it's really marked with that genre but it may be safe to brand it as one.
2. It's also bears some dark history. It's really quite sensitive (according to what the similarities that I learned in my major) so I won't mention anything quite risky but it is in link with a certain Historical event (obviously war) but I'm not quite certain whether it is just war within the country or a lot of countries were involved. In a way, maybe a lot were involved for such a sensitive issue to happen so I'll just leave it at that.
Okay on to what I really think. It was really a good read. I still can't expand the feeling a I felt upon finishing it other than being stunned/speechless/shocked. But what probably made my emotions respond to the book is what the main character had gone through in such a short time with the guy he barely knew at first; then it all ended up with him knowing the life of this guy in just one blow, and how the guy made an impact on the main character, but disappearing in the end...
What the main character went through was one of the things I fear the most-losing (in terms of connection and such) someone who had made a great impact in my life, because like the main character, my mind won't be able to stop itself from wondering about that person. Even though connections are lost, the bond you had with that person can't be ignored... Well that's for me since I value people who enter my life so much. I may not show, and they might not even know it (most likely), but I spend a considerable amount of time almost every day just thinking about them...
I guess I'll stop here before this turns in to a very long review...
P.S. I recommend the book... but for me it's not for a lot of people... maybe others who read this book too will understand why... of course that's a maybe... it's just my opinion...
