Turtle Day!

Feb 22, 2010 18:31

It's the 23rd in enough places already
And I wanted to do this before I get killed by math homework tomorrow
And I'm in the mood for ranting
>=D
Let's pretend today's the 23rd though, for ranting's sake.

When I first entered the fandom of KAT-TUN insaneness, like many people, I couldn't tell the apart. =\ In fact, for a while, I decided that Jin was Kame and Kame was Jin. And I was quite determined that they were each other o.o'
So here's to the Turtle Boy who probably doesn't like Pears as much as his name suggests:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAME~!

My first impression of Kame was, "What a squeaky voice he has 0.o''". After watching Nobuta and all the anorexic-ness that he was during that time period, as well as the whole 'debuting before the rest of the group' contraversy, as well as the amount of talking he does on any and all variety shows, AND HIS SQUEAKYNESS, me and Kame were not friends.
We continued to not be friends for quite a while after I started cartoon KAT-TUN; he was just so... presumptious..... and annoying.....
I was watching some of his 1 Pound no Fukuin promos, and he would not SHUT UP about how his muscles grew. Yes Kame, we get it. We got it after you said it the 4th time on the same show. Your muscles do not grow the more you tell us. Please SHUT UP NOW. It was probably those promos that killed the last bit of respect I had for him.
It didn't help that my mother declared Kame her favourite soon after that.
Because of her, I was forced to sit through more Kame-dramas than I ever would have tolerated the mere presence of being on my harddrive. The biggest problem was he was a good actor. Like, really good actor. I could see how easily he got all the drama awards, no matter how random and half-made up they were. He was cute in 1 Pound, apathetic in Nobuta, empathetic in Gokusen, so filled with hope in Yuuki <-- actually that has to be my favourite drama SP; it made me cry ;_;
Through all those dramas, I developed a feeling that was almost LIKING while watching him preform... and then he had to go and ruin it with all his annoyingness on drama promos and on ctKT. T_T

Something you learn very quickly about Kame is that he likes baseball. Actually, likes is an understatement; he LOVES baseball with such a burning passion you could have yakiniku on him and he wouldn't notice. *feeling hungry* That and, unlike his muscles for 1 Pound, he is actually modest about. I respect that. Although once you get him started he'll never SHUT UP about it, but nevertheless he's modest about his skills now-a-dayz. In the Johnny's Sports Festival thingy, he was quite obviously the best pitcher, but he didn't let up 'cause he thought highly of his skills, he faced them head-on as if he were in a game that mattered. Although he could've also been showing off, but I have to give him the benefit of the doubt sometimes or Kame fans eat me o.o'
Given it's been such a long time since he played baseball properly without it being really random and Johnny's set up, I don't think he's as good as he used to be anymore anyway. I don't think he could go professional anymore; he's bordering on 'old' in sports years. I also don't really see what was so great about his balling skills in the first place; yes, he could pitch. So can my brother. Yes, he went to the 12-year-old international baseball thingy. So is my brother this year. I guess my brother's baseball achievements kinda outshadowed Kame's apparent skills, but I'll have to give him yet another benefit of the doubt that he used to be good enough to go professional at some point in time.

Another aggrovating thing about Kame is that Johnny-san seems to have wanted to turn him into the next KimuTaku; all the charasmatic aura KimuTaku has around him is a producer's dreams of producing. But the thing that Johnny-san took a while to realize is that you can't produce someone to be charasmatic. So with all the extra things he gave Kame to do and all the little extra assigments only made my impression of him worse and worse and tired Kame out more and more. There've been many a period of time when he doesn't get more than 2 hours of sleep; What's the company trying to do, kill him!? [yes please *shot*]

I have indeed noticed I've wavered in and out of sympathizing and hating Kame. That seems to really be the only opinions you can have about him; You either Love him or Hate him. In all honesty I can't STAND him unless he's in a drama. Like Tagu, he too is a WONDERFUL actor and I would LOVE to fall in love with him on screen, but as soon as he turns off his uber acting-ness, he's just a pain in the butt. Bigger than Tagu.

But because it's his birthday, I feel the need to lighten up my opinion of him if only for the one day. I mean, I wouldn't want someone ranting about how horrible I am on my birthday. So I just crossed out things that were more mean that others
Keep that in mind. These are merely my opinions, and nothing more. I would like to think that the Japanese fandom is much more relaxed about different people's opinions that the K-Pop one. People over there bash each other out over the tinniest of comments. Or so I hear; I've been afraid of going over there to find out. 0.o''

In honour of the Turtle that is also a Pear, we've named one of our characters in the manga me and ma friendthatcanactuallydraw Ii Kazuya. Although that means their nickname is Iiya [awful] And their pet is a turtle with an afro that likes to eat pears. =D Let's ignore the fact that he's the annoying character that manages to pop out of no where and get his annoying 2cents worth into any and all situations... And inside joke that isn't so inside anymore.

Let's say it in Japanese for the kicks at the end:
カメ、誕生日おめでとう!!

Wow; look at all the strikeouts o_O'' Am I really that mean?
Wait, don't answer that....

birthday rant, rant, kamenashi kazuya
