Whirligigs

I've obscurely referenced the count before in this journal, but I've never explained it. (If I tell you, then I have to kill you.) Suffice it to say that it has tapered off considerably in recent months, but I got a whole slew of additions in the last week, plus one unusually complimentary comparison:

Woman In Bar: You sound just like that singer.
Kit Holliday: Really?
WIB: Yeah, you know the one.
KH: Can't think of her offhand, no.
WIB: Sister something.
KH: Sister... ? . o O { Sister Sledge? Sisters of Mercy? }
WIB: You know, she sings really strong like you.
KH: Um, what kind of music?
WIB: You know, she plays guitar.
KH: Gospel music?!?
WIB: Yeah, she plays guitar and sings church music.
KH: Sister Rosetta Tharpe?!?!?!?
WIB: Yeah, that's it! I saw her on some tv special. You sound like her. She's awesome.

Whoa.

That's a first. But I like it.

While I consider the ramifications of singing raucous glories to our Lord in the key of C, you guys should be checking online flights to Florida. Come hang out with me and the band, in the Florida Keys for the weekend, and then on to a total of 8 shows in 10 days. I'd list them all here, but I'll miss my plane. Go check out our schedule and figure out which looks the best. :) If you can't come, send your friends and relatives.

In six hours I will fly to meet the guys. (They left this morning.) This is only my second time ever flying to a gig. By the end of July, I will have doubled that amount. Could be worse.

tales, hilarity, the count
