Christmas girfts, both made and gotten!

Thought I’d post of a few photos of things I made for people this year! It wasn’t a huge crafty year for me, but I did a fair amount of work making things with what time I had.

First up are the gourd ballerina dolls I made for my boyfriend’s daughter and her little sister. The pink one is for my boyfriend’s daughter, since she’s older, and I figure can play with more delicate toys. It’s made from a gourd with a little bit of clay. She has a little sister, though, and so I made a second doll for her with no breakable parts. I do so love gourds.

I made the cookies for my dad - butterscotch and chocolate chip. That was just a tester cookie. That and the milk were mine.

For The Boyfriend’s brother I made a Chewbacca and a Han Solo. I think, for being rather simple and small, they turned out pretty good! I love how irritated Han looks.

And for my sister, I made the two of us! I knew she wouldn’t want just a clay figure of her, she’d want some company from a good pal, so I went ahead and made her a pal. Me. Oddly enough, by chance, I was wearing that very outfit today when I gave it to her!

This is just a highlight of what I got this year. My sister made me this ADORABLE little popsicle guy (with money tucked inside! :O Dood!) and The Boyfried and my mum got me some very cute kid’s books full of inspiring silly poetry. I’ll be annoying everyone by quoting from it for days. I also got a boss headache balm, which I’m sure I’ll be using a lot, and some quirky pasta, cause that’s right up my alley.

The Boyfriend got me this a-MAAAA-zing handpainted Mexican armadillo that I saw in a restaurant where they sell all this crazy art on the walls. I love this little guy. It’s so cool. I want my whole house decked out in this fabulously colorful, intricate Oaxaca art.

My mom got me the thing I really wanted from her, and am always bugging her for: some of her own art. She is a fantastic artist, but she stopped painting and drawing a long time ago, and now seems to have a crippling fear of failing or wasting time when it comes to creativity, so she never even gets started. She did a fox for me, which actually got me a little choked up, cause we always had foxes in our childhood home, and I love it so much.

Mostly I just loved hanging out with my people, getting to cook and play games and watch cartoons and pal around and have fun. I love having a family like mine, one who understands each other and supports each other, even if we’re squabbling or being crazy. We laugh a lot and we always appreciate that spending time together is a huge gift. I hope everyone got something similarly special. Lots of love, folks.
