Dating horror!

I'm excited for tomorrow -- I'm executing a turtle rescue. When I brought my turtle, Bellini, to science class on Monday, my boss asked if I could figure out what was wrong with the box turtle kept by a day care center that my school is semi-affiliated with. I had her give me the rundown on what the turtle was like and what his habitat was, and came to understand that the people at the day care center, while brilliant with kids, had no clue what to do for a turtle. The poor thing is depressed, malnourished, freezing cold, and continually poked and pestered by kids who try to flip him over. He's not eating properly and barely moving, and it's no wonder.

My boss said I should just take the turtle and keep him, but since my apartment is barely containing the zoo of two fish, two cats and one turtle as it is, my sister and her turtle-fancying hubby are going to take him in. I went out and bought a big plastic tub for him yesterday, and I think, with some time, this will be one happy turtle. I'm taking him tomorrow, and he'll never be poked or flipped again.
