My Mouth Is Sore...

May 21, 2007 15:15

I think it’s safe to say that my tongue is NOT my ambassador at the moment.  The entire left side of my mouth is tingly numb and the rest is sore from holding it open for so long.  I went to the Hot Dentist this afternoon to get a couple of my cavities filled.  The experience wasn’t nearly as bad as I remember it when I was younger.  Either things have improved in the dental arts or I really embellished the hell that the dentist’s drill makes.  I needed a couple of jolts of Novocain, as my grimace indicated a second one was required when they started in on the last cavity, but the experience could have been worse.  Even the music was better.  It was 70’s pop and rock, ala Q-FM, instead of the country pop from my first visit.  A few observations from the day:

*What an odd thing it is to have a drill taken to part of your body.

*Being numb, in limited doses, can be fun.

*Drinking coffee is a challenge when your mouth is half numb.  (See previous bullet.)

*Trying to throw a football farther than a couple of teenage boys do can put a strain on a 37-year old out-of-shape body.  (Not related to the rest of this post, but another thing I learned recently.)
