Changmin was lying on his bed, lost in his own world of thoughts and worries. A sigh pushed past his lips. How in the world does he know so little about Jaejoong? After all, he'd been obsessing over him for years for the sake of revenge, what exactly had he been doing all that time? It annoyed him to no end that he hadn’t been able to answer his question. It was something that was forcing him to see just how far away from Jaejoong he really was. They didn’t share the type of close bond he and Yunho had, and they certainly didn’t share any kind of love. Jaejoong had made that clear many times before this.
A sigh pushed past his lips. If he wasn’t just going to tell Changmin all about himself, then he would just have to find out for himself. Picking up his cell phone, Changmin dialed a number before placing the phone to his ear. A voice at the other end of the line replied in a cool voice.“Hyukjae, at your service.”
“It’s Changmin. I need you to find some information for me.”
Hyukjae's ears perked at the news, “Oh la-la. Who’s the person our MinMin is interested in?”
“Kim Jaejoong.”
The voice on the other end chuckled; sounding amused as he finally spoke into the receiver. “Oh, I don’t to look up information on him, I already know all about that fire-cracker.”
“You know him?”
“'Course. The guy is, or should I say, was a beast. He managed to piss off and beat the shit out of every gang in town. Apparently his family was sent to jail for swindling and he was left with an abusive, sicko uncle. He was..." Hyukjae trailed off, "fourteen? Yeah, fourteen when he joined, and subsequently, screwed over the first gang he'd joined. That's where he got his title "Human Killer Jaejoong", dude was merciless. He'd beat the shit out of anything, young, old, girl, boy. He was a normal high schooler by day, albeit he barely came except on test days. Pretty smart, 7th smartest in his graduating class, popular with guys and girl though he didn't care much. Funny thing is he started to lay low after high-school, didn't go to college, kept the brawls small. Rumor has it, he was trying to have a normal life, be a part of society for once. Last I've heard of, a gang leader I'm close with "played" with him and left him to die in an ally, though they couldn't find the body the next morning. He's probably dead, but the body thing really gets me.”
Changmin let out a grunt to confirm he understood.
"Ahh,” Hyukjae moaned, “Did I mention how popular this guy was with both guys and girls? Just manly enough for the girls, just feminine enough for the boys. The guy was really hot, such a shame he had a life like that. I mean, he's only 24, it fucking pisses me off I didn't get a piece of that. Even at the cost of my life I would have tried to tap th--"
"He's 24?" Changmin interrupted, doing the math in his head, "When was he born? The day and month."
“Uhh,” Hyukjae took a moment to think, "Well, his birth records would say February 4th, but when his gang life started, he insisted it was the 26th of January. I don't get why you care, MinMin. Stop worrying about this guy, he has nothing to do with yo--oh, wait, he's the one that practically killed your mom. Man, you didn't even get a chance at that reven--"
Ignoring the never ending voice of the other line, Changmin let out a slow breath, a feeling of shock washing over him. Changmin really knew nothing about Jaejoong; not even the obvious delinquent part of his life. He tried to lay low after high-school? No wonder Changmin couldn't track him down. More importantly, Jaejoong wanted to change...for the better? "Thanks, I’ll call you if I need anything else.”
Changmin didn’t wait for an answer before he hung up, his face looking as utterly bewildered as it did before he knew anything.
=---=
Jaejoong glanced up at the back of Yunho's head, sighing mentally. He'd been staring at him since he’d remembered that smile. He acted like he didn’t really care about the facts and memories surrounding their relationship, and pretended that what he was doing wasn't out of the ordinary. The truth was, Jaejoong wanted to forget all of things that had happened between them. The simple truth of the matter? Kim Jaejoong didn’t want to deal with the emotions that Yunho made swirl through his body. He was determined to stop caring about what he’d done for him. Protecting him, feeding him, caring for him...
Jaejoong let out a sigh.
“What?” Yunho questioned, unable to hear his muffled words.
“Nothing.” Jaejoong laughed as he turned in his arms started tickling him.
“Ah! Wait!” Yunho gasped, laughing like crazy, reaching out to grab Jaejoong’s wrists, “A surprise attack I see.”
Yunho let out another laugh-filled gasp as Jaejoong's fingers connected with his side.
“It’s not my fault that you were being absent minded.” Jaejoong laughed as he tickled up Yunho's sides, freeing his hands from his grip. “And next we go for the weakest area.”
“No wait, Jaejoong! I surrender!” Yunho laughed, bunching up his shoulders so he couldn’t reach his neck.
Huffing out of his nose, Jaejoong mentally accepted it was obvious that he really couldn't forget what happened. He had been sitting in his room for the past three hours before coming into the kitchen, his eyes drilling into the wall and his brow wrinkled, just trying to forget and get Yunho and this new life off his mind. “Can I help you with something, Jaejoong?” Yunho said, a smile gracing his face remembering the times Jaejoong had watched him bake in the past.
“No, nothing.” Jaejoong's voice sounded distant, trying not to give Yunho the wrong idea.
“You're a bad liar.” Yunho chuckled, wiping his hands on his apron. “With Kim Jaejoong, it's never just 'nothing'.”
“Of course, how could I even think of trying to hide anything from the all-knowing Yunho?” Jaejoong shot back sarcastically, crossing his arms over his chest.
Yunho's smile was replaced with a forced scowl. “Fine. Just forget it, Jaejoong. Just forget I said anything to you.”
“I already have.” There was a slight pause as the two stared at each other, one with a look of pain and the other with a look of unknowing annoyance. Jaejoong didn't know why Yunho could get a reaction out of him when he doesn't intend to.
Yunho's sighed at the pettiness Jaejoong was showing. For weeks on end, he'd been jumping though hoops to get Jaejoong to talk to him and was always met with the same attitude: cold, unresponsive and bitchy. Yet Yunho was pulled to Jaejoong's hard shell and if this was what it took to get him back, he'd do it. “Even if you don't want to hear it, we need to talk.”
Jaejoong gave a small groan of frustration, his hands un-clenching as he relaxed onto the wall of the kitchen, eyes fluttering closed as he tried to relax the tense muscles in his body. “And may I ask about what?”
“I don't know about you but I still love you.” Yunho didn't turn to look at Jaejoong's faces, he could already imagine the look of annoyance his former lover had plastered on his face as soon as the word dropped from his mouth, “I understand completely your never going to forgive me, but isn't there any way I could gain a little bit of that trust back?”
“And why should I, Yunho? So you can betray it again?”
“No,” Yunho muttered, feeling the scorn of Jaejoong's words, “so I can be closer to you again.”
Jaejoong's insides stirred. Fuck, was the only word going though Jaejoong's mind, Fuck, fuck, fuck. He'd actually been lonely since he'd cut off Yunho from his life. He missed the times they spent talking, his cooking, the comfort of his words, the gentleness of being in his arms, and having someone to go to. All of it seemed distant to him, like it'd been years ago instead of just a few weeks ago. “Fuck off, Yunho.” Jaejoong stated flatly, “Seriously, can I not come into the kitchen without having to hear this crap everyday?”
“So, basically, everything I'm saying is useless?” Yunho dropped the wisp and approached the small ball of a man on the floor, “I haven't done anything to you since then. Don't you think if I was really as bad as you said I am, I would have just raped you by now? I'm really sorry. What can I do? Do I have to do everything that Changmin is?”
An unknown anger possessed Jaejoong. He eyes narrowed his eyes at Yunho at the mention of the “mini-Yunho”. “Do not mention Changmin. He has nothing to do with this.”
“Actually, he has everything to do with this,” Yunho stared back at him, matching the intensity in Jaejoong's eyes, “We wouldn't hate each other of he hadn't laid his damn hands on you that night.”
Jaejoong smirked, “If it wasn't for Changmin, your true color's wouldn't have been shown.”
Yunho revealed an identical smile, “And yours wouldn't have been either. So stop with the bullshit and admit it. We were doing just fine before Changmin reared his ugly head.”
Yunho had a point. Jaejoong wasn't any better than him, and, hell, if it wasn't for Changmin and that night, he and Yunho would still be kissing and fooling around like the world was their playground.
“Fine. You're right.” Jaejoong got up, nonchalantly wiping his backside, a cocky smile playing on his face, “What kind of boyfriend would I be if I accounted you for being a bit too possessive?”
Yunho rolled his eyes. “The sarcasm isn't appreciated.”
“No, really, Yunho, I mean it. You're forgiven,” Jaejoong knew he was going to regret this whole conversation soon, “But I swear if you do anything even close to what you did before, it's over. Permanently. No “I'm sorry”s or anything.”
Jaejoong flung his body towards the foyer, pretending like he knew what he was doing. In honesty, Jaejoong just let all the words flow out of his mouth, assuming that what he really wanted. He let out a gentle sigh when he was out of earshot from Yunho.
Try not to fuck it up again, Yunho.
