Sometimes it's hard to be happy.
And since that's the case, I don't want to take it easy.
The key to life is to not expect too much from anything or anyone.

that's the most depressing key to life ever.

it's like saying that the key to life is not to die.

you should rephrase it.

be more selfish.

expect more, leave things to chance, and take situations into your own hands. love people, eat lots, die young. Wear funny hats. yeah.

It was one of those, I'm in a bad mood and going to be a big emo kid, post. I do that sometimes. But seriously, if you don't expect too much you'll never be let down. I have high expectations, then I am let down. I don't expect anything, and I can be pleasantly surprised. It could be depressing, but I don't see it like that.

Except it's impossible to not expect anything, really. You'll still be disappointed, even if you expect nothing, because nothing happened. You'll be less unhappy, maybe, but still unhappy. I'd rather trade a moment of excited anticpation for something that didn't happen then wear a shroud of grey doubt and never look forward to anything. Your logic has flaws. But let's leave it be.
