May I Recommend?

Here are some delicious offerings from people who are not me but that I would recommend to you all. Some are absolutely brilliant and make your heart break and eyes tingle. Some are cheekily delightful, give you a good chuckle and warm your insides. Separated by fandom.

AMERICAN IDOL
COOKLETA (David Cook/David Archuleta)
Losing All Control by slashophile: Cook invites Archie over to watch the fireworks. 1141 words, NC-17

Jo Soy David by slashophile: He didn’t like having to be the responsible adult to a thirty year-old. David Cook has a little lot to drink and butchers Crush then wants to order from Taco Bell in Spanish. 2992 words, R

At the Wrong End of the Looking Glass by lc_writings: The same beach, the same date, twenty years later. Too much has changed but will the feelings remain the same? 2384 words, PG

From This Day Forward by jehane18 & frackin_sweet. In our alternate universe, Mike Johns and Carly Smithson are getting married in fancy L.A. style. David Cook is Johns' best man. David Archuleta is Carly's BFF, and is her point man on all the important details. Three parts, PG-13

Half of My Heart by jehane18 & frackin_sweet. It's been ten months since From This Day Forward. Mike Johns and Carly Smithson have just had a baby; David Cook and David Archuleta are having some issues of the heart. NC-17 (for language)

The Sun and the Moon by x_heterophobic. Before there was life, there was Mother Earth and Father Sky. ~1800 words, PG

Between the Summer and the Fall by celli. “I wouldn’t have met you, though,” Cook said to the apartment wall. David snorted a little. “Yeah, who wouldn’t rather have sex with me than be a rock star?” 14198 words, Mature

Fifth Grade, by aohatsu. He gets these... notes, in his desk at school, pretty much every day. 3116 words, G

Somewhere Out There, by jehane_writes. Even though Cook is a Star and David just an amateur gazer, fate still manages to bring them together. 5000+ words, PG-13

Three Inches and A Star (The "Somewhere Out There" Remix), by aohatsu. He makes it to the ticket booth, and grabs at his identification card, swiping it through the display monitor where it records his name, age, occupation, and slides out a long blue ticket from the bottom when it registers that he has the money in his account, if just barely. The ticket has the word Ryan Star at the bottom, and David Cook at the top, heavyset and boldened darkly with black ink. 6524 words, PG-13 [Remix of Somewhere Out There, above.]

Anything Your Heart Desires, by jehane_writes. Hundreds of thousands of stores across the known worlds and absolutely nothing to buy. 2000+ words, PG-13 [Continuation of the world explored in Somewhere Out There and Three Inches and A Star, above.]

KRADAM (Kris Allen/Adam Lambert)
The Eighth Man by celli. The one where they're all NASCAR crew members, and Celli takes immense amounts of dramatic license. ~2025 words, PG-13 [Also included: delightful appearance by Cookleta.]

JONAS BROTHERS
JOVIN (Joe/Kevin)
Possession by 2he_re. It started when Kevin gave his brother his teddy bear and then his fingers. Then his ears. Then his lips. His tongue. His dick. Himself. Kevin took everything back, except his heart. Two parts, NC-17

JOICK (Joe/Nick)
Necking by secret_plasures. Joe woke up kind of disoriented. He was--was he standing up? And he was…outside? And whoa, was he a lot taller than he was supposed to be? Then he looked down and realized that he was a freaking giraffe, okay? With the legs and the neck and the giraffe-print fur and everything. PG-13

ANOMALIES
NICKCHULETA (Nick Jonas/David Archuleta)
God Doesn't Care About Your Make-Out Sessions, Nick Jonas by smithereen. The Disney Summer Concert Series is a little bit like a high school reunion populated entirely with ex-girlfriends. 14,500 words, PG

Can't Stop My Heart From Calling You by that_1_incident. Nick Jonas is straight. Very much so. And David Archuleta’s Mormon, so… he sort of has to be. But when the two meet backstage at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards, they lay the foundation for an enduring connection that neither of them expects. ~27,500 words, PG-13

KEVRON (Kevin/Zac Efron)
Keep Calm and Carry On by th_esaurus. Kevin relaxes for the rest of lunch, now that he has some certainty. They'll eat, and then they'll go on the London Eye, and then Zac will go to his screening and Kevin will go to Joe's stupid arcade, and then they won't see each other again until the next staged event, the next award ceremony, the next red carpet. Zac won't call. They won't hang out. Kevin will have months and months to compose himself. It'll be fine. 8406 words, R

What Team! ('Cause I'm Rooting For The Other One) by th_esaurus. The jock and the cheerleader: a traditional love story. Sort of. 528 words, G
