"Paris est la origine de la sensuelite" - my art history teacher
Ok so this weekend i went to the loire valley which is like southwest of here and is where most of the french castles are. it was really pretty and mrs. schmidt had told our class that it was one of the prettiest places she had ever been too. The outside of Chiverny is sooo beautiful and you just want to sit under the trees and look at the beautiful gardens forever. inside the castles are even more amazing. the furniture is so beautiful and each room is prettier then the next. the stories behind the castles are the interesting part. King Henry gave his most beautiful castle Chambord to his mistress. When he died his wife kicked the mistress out and took the castle for her self but let the mistress keep a small garden.The castle has always belonged to women, never to men. heres a pic:

Besides the castle the hotel which we stayed at was really cute. it was surrounded by thousands of sunflowers and i woke up at 5 (!!!) am to run (!!!!!!) in them with 2 of my friends! it was soooo cool haha.

im still shocked.
i watched the game in a room with 26 french fans and only me cheering for brazil. It was horrible. All over paris there are posters making fun of brazilians but dont worry i plan on buying a sharpie and changing that. I refused to admit to Geoffrie that France has a better team and so he challenged me and my friends to a little "match de foot" tomorrow against his friends. That should be fun haha.
and now for the bad news:
my roommate got into a fight with my french mom and sister. the tension is unbearable. My roommate sneaked out and got caught and now my french mom is furious. she yelled at her and then the sister yelled at me! and i didnt do anything! she said that i was ungrateful and was disrespecting her parents!ugh it was the worst expiriance ever bc she was yelling really fast in french and i was trying to understand and all i caught was "dont treat us like idiots". trying to explain anything in french is really hard especially when your nervous and upset and then she called my roommate fat and asked her why she never went on diet pills or got surgery! ugh the director of the program just said that thats the way the french are and that they are paying them to give me a room and some food not to be nice to me which just got me even angrier i mean first shes just stereotyping french people like that and then shes saying that its fine if they are mean to us? dont get me wrong i completely understand why they got angry at her but why did she have to add personal insults to it... ugh and so now im stuck in the middle of this mess and the only person i get along with in this house is the dad who is a sweetheart.
This is definitely a lot harder then i expected.
i miss you guys a lot.
