Riding in cars with girls.

Apr 01, 2004 01:28

i could hear the music blasting out the open car window before i even took a step outside of my house. Metric. The music that will always remind me of boys from oakville.
walking down my front steps, and out to the car i can barely hear the 2.00$ in change rattling around in my sweater pocket. I get in the car and smile. it is hard not to around such a girl. she IS my twin from another mom, you know.
the ride to the gas station is fairly silent. not because we have nothing to say however, but more because nothing needs to be said.

after running some errand in town we head to coffee time in hamilton. windows down, music up, i let a lot of my thoughts drift out with the warm air that is rapidly escaping from the car. we drive fast. girls that drive fast in little red cars are so hot. you all know it.
the windows go up and the sudden pressure makes me ears pop. now all i have in my head are the thoughts of a boy and of my soon to be cup of coffee.

after parking, and then re-parking, we step out into the drizzle and make our way towards one of the only places left to have an indoor smoking section. everyone in there is speaking another language, a mix of russian, french, and some other really european languages. The man behind the counter looks like the chinese man from american idol. you know, the one who tried to sing ricky martin songs.
medium coffee: 1.15$
change left in pocket: approximately .85 cents

One of the random russian boys comments on Tori's legs. she doesn't hear it, but i do. we try to figure out if his friend realizes that his tear away pants are undone to the pont that you can see his underwear. after all, before we got there he was sitting in a room with about 25 40 year old males. we'll never know what his intentions were for the night.

we left that place pretty fast. the combination of smoke and many foreign conversations happening at once is not good for ones head.

and now i'm at home, wide awake, and waiting. the silence in my house is eerie, and the noises of my keyboard sound like they could wake the entire block.
i want to sleep.
i dont want to sleep.
i couldn't sleep if i tried.

<3,
Julia
