it finally feels like summer.

i went down to philly for a few days last week. i needed to get my car inspected - yay, kensington passed! - and had lots of time to visit with the family down there. on wednesday, i had a free dinner at macaroni grill and finally got to see my godson for the first time... that child is SOOOOO tiny. he's only like, 7lbs something and he's almost 3 months old!!! i told all of them that babies COME OUT of my family larger than that... gabriel's soooo tiny. but he smiles now, and it's so adorable. thursday was a whole lot of sitting around, chilling with stu, then when heidi got home, she and ed took me out to dinner for graduation. we went to a japanese hibachi place that was excellent... good good good food. friday i got the car inspected and went over to the relay for life at the horsham high school. the air show was that weekend as well, so all the practicing planes were flying above us since the airfield is so close. there were millions of tents up and hundreds of people, free food and free full body massages... oh yes. stuart was chosen this year as the cancer survivor speaker, so he got up there and told his story... he did very well, and then some kid from the choir fainted behind him. after that, there was more walking around the track and eating, playing in the field and live music. it was scorching all day, so by dusk the weather was perfect. sophia does this new thing where she dances and shakes her hips when she hears music - especially shakira, haha - and it's so adorable... but then a part of me thinks 1 1/2 is way too young to start the hip shaking. when the sun went down, they lit luminarias all around the track and spelled out hope in the stands. it was really pretty, and the atmosphere was perfect - the air show even had fireworks going, so we got to see those as well. i survived the whole day without sunburn, and only one mosquito bite... even though it was on my forehead.

then i drove back on saturday, after relaxing in the morning. it took a while to get through new york, as it always does unless you drive at 3am. i finally got back and ben took me out to dinner. we were supposed to go see a movie with tony & sarah, but we lost internet and since no libraries are open sundays... we went over to ben's friend ben's house. who, of course, was throwing a HUGE fucking party. so i had to do my stupid online exam and quiz amidst a million people. and afterward, ben was out playing volleyball... and if you know me at all... i jumped in and no sooner than 5 minutes i was on the ground, haha. i totally slipped, and fell in a splits-like way. it was graceful. the second time i fell however, was not.
so when tony called, we invited him over instead of a movie, and they came over and played vb with us for a while. we eventually jumped in the pool to cool off cause it was sooooooooo warm, and even worse if you were sweating. we ended up back here watching robots with tony & sarah. so, all in all, i did get a little red - mostly sunkissed rather than sunburned. and the mosquito bite count is up to 10. ugh. itchy.

that is all. i'm happy to have internet back, and not have work to do on it. and my ankle hurts from falling. i heart summer.
