so i got up today, ready to just sit and study for my exam tomorrow afternoon... just ready to sit and read my 4 (or something) chapters on neuroscience, a little bit more excited about this exam than the last two, since this one is basically stuff i've learned before, just a little more in depth ( Read more... )

The same thing happened to me senior year. I couldn't have cared LESS about what classes to take. And I used t obe psyched.
I took Italian 110, German 110 and Hebrew 110... all were VERY easy if you have any language skills at all (not meant sarcastically... I just don't knwo if you've ever taken a language... which you most likely have.)... especially Spanish. They are ridicuously easy. Hmmm what else was a good filler course? If you have 60 horus of free time in an entire semester (It sounds daunting at first but I finished in 2.5 weeks because I have only TuTh classes and used my MWF all 7 hours to get it over with) to tutor kids, Educ 497I is a class where everyone get san A for showing up and tutoring. It was a rough 2.5 weeks but after that, it was a breeze. All the papers are like two pages long MAYBE and "how do you learn best?" type of crap. Hmmm what else? Educ 524 is an easy mandatory pass fail class. Again, you just show up and pass. Astronomy 100 or 101 with Young or Katz will get you an A. The test questions are like, "The sun is a: A. planet, B. Star, C. Comet, D. River.... for both professors. Those are the only real good EASY classes I can think of.

The teacher thing - it is a lot of work but I am the only one in the whole program of 25 that is struggling so it's probably just me. Plus my teacher hates me. I think you could definitely do it. Nine months of work, 7-2 days, all the holidays you could ever want off... It's nice. I just personally hate it.

Don't worry what you'll be when you grown up (I know, I know... the pot calling the kettle black) BUT most 40 year olds don't know what they want to do with their life. try something. If you hate it, drop it. I'd say you should apply for all grad programs you are interested in that way when you get into them all, you have a choice whereas you coulda been thinking, "Why didn't I apply to Smith???" I almost didn't shwo up for my gra program because at the last second I ws like, "i don't wanna do it" but I did... and I am miserable but no one else is in my whole program so don't use me as a good example for anything. LOL.

You are going to be fine. You've already accomplished so much more than I ever have.

Maybe you should look into doing something with being an agent for music/actors... or getting bands for clubs or something like UPC work. That would be so much fun! I thought about advertising if the teaching thing falls through. That would rock. Don't know how to do it but it would be fun.

Last sem of college is stressful but I highly recommend taking one class pass/fail and putting the bare minimum in. That sounds bad but it takes pressure off and you still get 3 credits for it. That's what I did!

Seriously I can't stress enough that you will figure it out and will be fine. Look what you've done so far! You live 3000 miles from everyone you knew and loved growing up. I really envy that. I couldn't even do that for one semester. You are all involved with so many things. You have a ton of friends (social skills). You have a boyfriend (someone at least loves you - unlike me!!!)... And good choice on getting outta MA... I hate it here too!
So keep your head up and just focus on one day at a time. Just think about what you have to do for tomorrow. And then tomorrow just focus on what you have to do for the next day. Or ever do it week by week if you have to. But don't look to May or November, December, January, february, March, April, May will be miserable and then this summer you will WISH you had chilled out.
I hated the end of my college and now I am wishing I was back there without so much responsibility!
