Wow.

I am so incredibly happy right now. I haven't been able to find the words for how I feel since about 11:30 last night. I am so incredibly proud of my country. To think that we have come this far and overcome so much is astounding. I'm a bit ashamed of the hatred that has come from conservatives regarding Obama's campaign and victory. Now, that's not to say I wouldn't be packing right now if things went the other way, but the visciousness is unprecedented.
I really liked his speech last night, especially when he acknowledged that we have a lot left to do; that this victory is not the change we seek, but merely the opportunity to affect that change. I also appreciate that he reached out to conservatives, saying he will listen to them, ESPECIALLY when they disagree and that he will be their president too. This is much more than we've come to expect from the victor in a Presidential election. Needless to say, I'm ecstatic.

After MSNBC called Ohio, Olbermann came on and said they were calling it for Obama. Then I told everyone to get their shoes on and we went outside to the driveway and lit fireworks. We had some fans in the ba\lack family down the street and we successfully woke up my asshole conservative neighbors. The black people yelled down the street that there was a rally at the Mariott on Pleasant Hill so we packed up and left, getting there in time to hear McCain's concession speech. Then we waited to hear Obama's victory speech and left, speechless and a bit in shock I must admit.

But my family is planning to going to the inauguration in January. I think dad's getting the hotel rooms and renting a van today or soon. Ha, and Patrick said he's going with us, so I'm stoked.

But, my battery's dying, so I'll try and write more later.

But as for now, rejoice in the new dawn in America and hope for what the future holds. Regardless of whether you like him or not, be grateful that the country is headed in a new direction.

God bless you, and God bless America.

Peace.
