Dying hurt a lot more than Severus would’ve thought. He knew it would, of course, but after seeing so many other people tortured and killed, he would have thought he’d be a bit more prepared.
“Severus!”
Severus looked up to see Lupin rushing towards him across a field of daisies. Either this was Lupin’s heaven or Severus’s hell. Daisies. Honestly.
“I’m sorry,” Remus whispered as they embraced.
Severus pulled back, concerned. “What for?”
“Well…you’re dead.” Remus looked away-sheepish-as if it was his fault.
Severus smiled, pulling Remus close again. “No matter. I’m exactly where I want to be.”
