Yixing woke up to a dog barking loudly and someone talking. He groaned at the ray of sunlight that blinded him for a second, before glancing at his clock. It read 10am. Way too early for someone who had went to sleep barely five hours ago. He groaned again when the barking and whining didn’t stop, starting to think up ways to make it stop. The thing was, he didn’t want to get up from his bed - at all. The barking got closer to him and Yixing finally sat up.
A man was talking to the dog, cooing at it to try to stop him from making so much noise. Yixing didn’t really care for who that person was, he didn’t want to listen to it. Only that he already knew very well who the man was who was talking in a not so hushed voice and, most importantly, who that dog was.
He sighed and he got up from his bed, dressing as quickly as possible in the first two dressing items that he found. Taking his keys he stomped outside his flat.
Walking in front of his neighbour’s door he pressed the bell angrily - he loved, no, needed to sleep in the morning and Mr. Wu Yifan knew that very well. The door opened and Yixing was hit with the strong scent of coffee, black tea and a disgusting smell of wet dog.
“Why did you bath it.” He deadpanned. His neighbour, a tall, lanky and scary looking Chinese man, replied with a shy and awkward smile, not matching the aura around him.
“Yixing! Come on, you know Peach is a girl. I’m sorry, did we wake you up?”
Yixing glared at the man, unfazed by his small grin and his height. “Yes! You know I have to sleep! I’ve told you a thousand times to be quiet!” He exclaimed, jabbing his finger against Yifan’s chest. “Did you really have to bath your dog this morning?”
Yifan looked a bit embarrassed at least. He nodded weakly and he took Yixing’s hand to take it away from his chest. “I’m sorry…” He mumbled, looking at the ground.
Yixing, just for a second, felt bad himself, even if he had every right to get angry. “And I thought people weren’t allowed to have pets in this building?” Yixing continued, slightly bothered that Yifan was still holding his hand.
“Ah, no, actually I have talked with our landlord and…”
Yixing didn’t listen. They always had the same conversation, the only thing that changed was how it started… which was often the same way anyway. Yixing would wake up because of Peach or Yifan, then he would get up to go complain to his neighbour… The only thing that was different that day was that Yifan was holding Yixing’s hand. There was nothing romantic in the gesture, yet Yixing felt bothered because it also felt perfectly normal.
It had been almost a year since they first met. Yifan had moved in Yixing’s apartment block and Yixing had just started working as a bartender, which messed up his sleep schedule as well as his temper and his life in general.
Yixing was sure that if Yifan wouldn’t have owned a dog and he himself wouldn’t be working night shifts, everything would be perfect. Yifan was a bit shy, despite his scary looks, and he truly was kind and lovable; he liked to give small gifts to his friends and he was always ready to help them when they needed someone.
However, Yixing found the other to be way too perfect… which might be one reason as for why he hated his dog with a fiery passion. Actually Peach was small and cute, but Yixing believed she was Satan. Peach barked at ungodly hours - no, she barked every single minute and she also whined, and she scraped Yifan’s door…
“...and then they allowed me keep Peach here! Yixing, are you sleeping?”
Yixing shook his head, but he was actually on the verge of falling asleep right there, standing in front of Yifan.
“You look really tired. Listen…” The tall man grabbed him by the shoulders.
Yixing felt his heart stop at that, not expecting the motion; usually Yifan would have let him go with a small, apologetic wave of his hand, yet today everything was going differently.
“Peach doesn’t bark when you’re here, she just whines and sniffs a bit. If you’ll sleep here, she won’t disturb you.” Yifan explained with a smile.
Yixing had seen his neighbour’s apartment a couple of times, and he knew what kind of person he was, so he wasn’t worried. What actually worried him was the fact that he nodded - maybe he was too tired and didn’t care anymore. Plus he could feel a headache forming, and that black tea scent calmed him a bit.
Yifan put his arms around Yixing’s shoulder as he guided him inside. Luhan, a mutual friend of theirs, always joked around saying that despite Yixing’s aversion towards Peach, he and Yifan already looked like a couple. While Yixing was always angry and complaining about Peach, Yifan was always ready to say something nice to his neighbour - which was incomprehensible, since Yixing seemed everything but kind to him.
“Your eyes are red. You should stop working there, plus I don’t want to only see you on the weekends…” Yifan murmured, guiding him towards the bedroom. Yes, a couple… in the end Yixing always let his neighbour pamper him a bit.
“Just pay me the rent, then.” He replied, with his eyes already closed. He was way too tired to be angry, last night had been tough, with the customers being more annoying than usual.
“Now you’re asking me a bit too much.” Yifan left his side for a second and Yixing heard some rustling before his neighbour reappeared and guided him to the bed.
“Won’t I disturb you?” He mumbled, even if he lied down anyway. He opened his eyes only to see Yifan placing the sheets over his body with a smile, and soon even Peach joined them.
“I’m always happy to see you, even if you won’t talk to me. And I need to go out either way, so you won’t disturb me.”
Yixing snorted and slapped lightly Yifan’s arm, secretly glad that his neighbour was being so nice with him. Peach jumped silently on the bed and after some hesitance she rested next to Yixing, who let her without adding anything.
“Are you comfy enough? Have a good rest.” Yifan whispered before lowering down the rolling shutter and turning the room dark. Yixing closed his eyes, already falling asleep. He didn’t even lock properly the door of his flat, but in that moment he really didn’t care. “Won’t you give me a goodnight kiss?”
Yifan stayed silent for a long minute. Yixing thought the other had already walked away, ignoring his tired mumbling, and he sighed softly, curling against Peach; only after a few second he felt something soft pressing on his cheek and a hand combing through his hair.
As soon as Yixing heard Yifan’s steps walking away, he opened his eyes and stared blankly in front of him: his heart was pounding so loudly that Yixing thought it was going to burst. He closed his eyes again and sighed loudly, making Peach whine and press her face against his chest.
“Stupid dog.” He grumbled, blushing, and patting her head to calm her down. “Stupid Yifan. Stupid me.”
He fell asleep while petting Peach.

He woke up to the nice smell of food and without Peach in his arms. Getting up he yawned loudly, stretching himself. He dragged himself out of the bedroom, ruffling his own hair; he hadn’t expect to sleep so much and so soundly. He felt perfectly rested and he liked the idea of waking up with someone at home with him.
It felt strange to have slept at Yifan’s house, but it wasn’t like that hadn’t happen before: he had rested on Yifan’s couch once or twice together with Yifan and Luhan after too many beers.
”Hey.” Yixing greeted, with sleep still evident in his voice.
Peach looked up from her bowl where she was eating and she barked once before returning to her food, while Yifan turned around from the stoves and smiled. “I made you some zha jiang mian, I had some leftover sauce.”
Yixing stood there, surprised to hear that. The other was being so nice, when he had no reason to do that. “You didn’t need to cook me anything…” He whispered, feeling a bit bad for acting angry and annoying all the time.
Yifan shrugged and he gave him a plate filled with food. “I didn’t, but I wanted to.” He took a serving of zha jiang mian as well and he sat down on his chair. Yixing followed suit, albeit hesitantly, and they ate in silence. Both of them weren’t bored by the lack of conversation, they enjoyed it and for once Yixing decided to avoid complaining out loud when Peach sat between them and looked up expectantly.
“Thanks for the meal.” Yixing said as soon as he finished. He turned around just to see Yifan staring at him with a satisfied smile.
“You have a bit of… wait, I’ll do it for you.” Yixing whined quietly when the taller man wiped away some sauce from his cheek and blushed slightly when Yifan grinned.
“Here, done!” They stared in each other’s eyes for a long time, both with small smiles on their lips and both unsure on what to say to break the newfound silence. Peach, though, didn’t care at all and barked loudly, startling them.
“I-I should go now!” Yixing exclaimed, standing up after glancing at the clock. “Gosh, Peach, you’re so noisy. What does your dog eat to bark all the time?” He grumbled, walking towards the door.
Yifan followed him, keys in his hands. “Wait, here. I took your keys and locked your apartment when I went outside before.”
Yixing wanted to roll his eyes - typically Yifan. He was always helping everyone even when he didn’t need to. Yet it was one of his characteristics that Yixing secretly liked and that always made him feel important.
“T-thank you.” He stuttered, taking them and leaving his neighbour’s flat. “And… yeah. See you.”
Yifan gave him a gummy smile and ruffled his already disheveled hair. “Yeah, see you.”
Yixing fumbled with the keys and went back into his own apartment, his heart beating way too fast and his hands shaking. No, he couldn’t… he didn’t like Yifan. At all. Who would have liked a guy with such noisy dog? Peach was a little devil, and she must have learnt everything from her owner.
At work he could barely focus. Making drinks was easy for him, he did them automatically, but that night he messed up customers’ orders more than once; his boss called him out every single time, and didn’t do so kindly, but rudely and with a threatening voice that scared both Yixing and everyone who listened to their conversation.
At the end of his shift, Yixing was on the verge of tears. Frustrated both because of his job and his nonexistent love life, angry because of Yifan’s way too sweet actions and words towards him, he went back home feeling dead tired and hopelessly lost.
He barely saw Yifan the next few days. As per usual he went to his flat just to complain about Peach whining too loudly, but Yifan seemed a bit distant and tired as well. Whatever had happened, things had changed since Yifan had given Yixing the small peck on the younger’s cheek.
It was almost a week later that Yifan rang the bell of his neighbour’s flat. It was a chilly evening and Yixing was already grumbling as he was getting ready for his job. Upon hearing the bell, he immediately went to answer at the door and was surprised to find there Yifan, waiting for him all dressed up.
“What are you doing here? Make it quick, I need to go.” He said, combing his own hair with some gel. Peach barked happily behind Yifan and waved her tail, glad to see Yixing, who just rolled his eyes at her.
“I, uh.” Yifan stuttered, clearly embarrassed and taken back by Yixing’s tone. “Nothing. Sorry I’ve annoyed you. I’ll just go… walk with Peach. Have a good night.” He mumbled, playing with his own fingers.
He had a small bouquet of flowers in his hands, he looked like he was ready to go on a date. Yixing watched him walking away, his shoulder slumped down and the bouquet almost falling from his loose grasp; Peach stayed right there in front of Yixing for a few more seconds, barking angrily at him before running off and following after Yifan. Whatever his neighbour had wanted to say, it must have been important.
Suddenly Yixing felt his body drained, as well as oddly horrible. He was the bad guy, the jerk who was playing with Yifan’s heart. When he walked to his workplace, his feet were heavy on the ground and his mind clouded with thoughts.
“His dog is Lucifer!” Yixing screamed as soon as Luhan appeared in front of him for a drink. He didn’t expect to see him at the bar, but he really needed to talk with his friend.
“That dog is everywhere! He wanted to take out and his dog was there! I try to sleep and his dog wakes me up!” He snarled, throwing some ice into the shaker.
“But he is cute and kind.” Luhan chuckled, sipping his drink.
Yixing huffed and poured some liquor in after the ice with experienced motions. “I don’t care! His dog is terrible! I’m never going to go out with someone with such horrible pet!”
Luhan rolled his eyes and placed his drink on the counter, pointing at it. “Yifan is a good person, he likes you a lot and you like him a lot too, even if you’ve never said that out loud. Don’t think too much about his dog. Now fill my glass.”
Yixing shook the mixture and quickly refilled his friend’s glass with a sigh. Luhan immediately took his drink. “You even gave him your number at least a couple of months ago."
"That's because he's a lost cause! I hear him coo at his dog even from my apartment! He make kiss noises at her and he talks to her like a person would do to a child!" Yixing whined. "I swear he’s going to take his dog out with me on our potential date! He even sends me pics he took with her!”
Luhan choked on his drink and started laughing. “This sounds so like Yifan. He likes cute things. But I thought you didn’t want to go out on a date with him?”
Yixing blushed and shrugged, as he served another customer. He didn’t reply because after all he knew the answer: he was simply scared to admit that he wanted to try it with Yifan and that Peach was just an excuse.
Yifan was awkward and shy, but so sweet and kind that it was difficult for Yixing to accept that such person was still trying hard to be as nice as possible to him. Yifan’s small gestures and worry towards him were genuine and not done out of with pity, yet Yixing wanted to be as careful as possible with him. Yifan seemed way too perfect to be real, and that’s why Yixing was finding excuses, even if he was never going to admit that.
“I… I don’t.” He answered, hesitantely glancing at his friend. Luhan was smiling softly, with no sign of that dangerous glint he sometimes had in his eyes.
“Do you feel scared?” He asked, playing with his half-filled glass.
“Of course.” Yixing sighed. “It’s just… his dog…”
Luhan hummed and turned away for a few seconds. “Yeah, his dog... Listen, he’s coming here in a few minutes. Why don’t you just give him a chance? He’s scared as well, you’re terrible when you’re angry, and he’s my friend too. I hate to see you two play this stupid game. Just go out on a date for once and see what happens.”
Yixing pondered for a long while, as he kept making drinks, not catching every single word of his friend’s blabbering. Just once… just one date. It couldn’t hurt, right? “Okay.” He said.
When he looked up, he saw Yifan walking towards the counter, towards Luhan and himself. Yixing stared with wide eyes, frozen in place. His heart started beating faster, as he didn’t expect to see his neighbour so soon, and he quickly turned around to wash his hands.
Yixing liked to dress up for his job, but he never thought that it was going to be useful in the future. He felt slightly ashamed that Yifan was going to see him while he was working, but he was glad that he wasn’t going to talk a lot with him, as Yixing was too busy serving other customers.
It’s not like that they never met during Yixing’s shift, just that after what happened back at their apartment block and after what the young bartender had just said, it felt a bit too soon.
“Yixing?” The tall man exclaimed as soon as he reached him.
Yixing turned around, a tight smile on his face. “Heeey…” He waved nervously.
Luhan probably sensed his nervousness, as he stood and patted Yifan’s back. “He’s a bit busy right now, maybe we should let him work!”
Yixing quickly placed a drink in front of him. “Yeah, that’s right. Go have fun!”
Yixing shooed them away, and Luhan took the chance to grab his friend’s drink and tugged Yifan away. The tall man looked back and smiled at Yixing, who felt his heart flipping; he couldn’t help but smile back, and just for a second Yifan seemed stunned again. He and Luhan disappeared in the crowd, and Yixing went back to his job, trying to focus on the drinks.
During the night, Yifan appeared in front of him a couple of times, strangely with a confident, gummy smile on his lips and eyes shining. The man tried to chat with Yixing, who always replied moving a bit too close to him (he did it just because it was fun to see Yifan so flustered and awkward) and left him with a small “I’ll let you work, see you later”. Soon “later” became late night and then the very first hours of daylight.
Yifan and Luhan walked home with him, and when Luhan left for his flat he winked drunkenly at both. Yixing was nervous, but Yifan looked so tired that he barely noticed the smaller’s mood.
“Why did you stay until late?” Yixing shyly asked as they walked up the stairs.
Yifan hummed and shrugged, looking embarrassed. “I wanted to ask you to go out with me.” He said that with an uncharacteristically small, insecure voice, but his soft tone made shiver Yixing anyway.
“You could have asked me tomorrow…” He replied, taking Yifan’s hand in his to reassure the taller man that he still wasn’t refusing him. Yifan shrugged, and they reached their apartments.
“No, I would have annoyed you…” He whined, keeping his voice low. “I tried before when I rang you but then you looked annoyed and I wanted to give you flowers, maybe it was too cheesy. I looked decent tonight while you were stunning. Your eyes sparkled and your hair was purple under the lights. You were surrounded by stars all night long and sometimes, when I looked at you, I felt like you were a bit lonely and that you were going to disappear as soon as I would have glanced away.”
Yixing listened carefully to Yifan’s half drunken slurring. For someone who barely talked, he sure observed and had a lot to say. Every word that Yifan mumbled made Yixing blush and his heart flipped more than once. “I really don’t know what to do. Every time I think I’ve reached you, I actually haven’t. You seem so near, yet so far.”
Yixing closed his eyes and sighed. He was still holding Yifan’s hand, and he didn’t want to let him go; Yixing held his breath as he leaned against his tall neighbour and almost let himself against Yifan.
“Don’t say that…” He whispered against the man’s shoulder. “You’re drunk and…”
The tall man hummed tiredly and hugged Yixing, kissing his forehead as softly as possible. “Yeah, sorry about that.” He mumbled. “I can ask you tomorrow. Or never, if that’s what you want.”
Yixing bit his lips to stop a smile and he took a step back, letting Yifan’s hand go. “Ask me tomorrow.” He answered, feeling lighter than before, as if something worrisome had been lift from his shoulders. “When you’ll have your mind clear. Please.”
Yifan smiled and nodded.
Yixing went back home and he felt as if he was flying. He couldn’t even sleep that well because he was worried he wasn’t going to hear Yifan calling him, even if could hear pretty well Peach walking around or barking loudly in the late morning.
In the evening, when Yifan knocked on Yixing’s door, the younger man almost fell in his hurry to open it. Yifan had a bouquet in his hands again - a bigger one this time, and so colorful - and also a card. Peach was waiting there as well, with a small, cute bow for the occasion. “Why does it feel as if you’re proposing to me?”
Yifan smiled softly and shrugged, glancing at him shyly.
“Well, I am proposing. I’m proposing you a date with me.” He replied, making Yixing hide a smile behind his hand. Peach whined and waved her tail, pushing her owner’s leg towards Yixing, as if she was telling him to go on.
“Do you want to go on a date with me?” Yifan finally asked, covering his blushing cheeks with the bouquet.
Yixing grinned, feeling his heart beating faster than normal. The sight was so cute that it would have been impossible to refuse the taller.
“Yes.” He answered. “But what made you change your mind, yesterday night?”
Yifan’s eyes widened, surprised by the question, as Yixing carefully took the flowers from his hands. “You looked as if you gained some confidence after you talked to Luhan.”
With a nervous laugh, Yifan shrugged again. “Let’s just say he told me something I need to hear from you.”
Yixing bit his lips and nodded. “So, tomorrow evening? Dinner and movie?” He continued smoothly, trying to hide his nervousness from Yifan, who widened his eyes and nodded frantically.
“O-of course! I’ll pick you up at seven!” He exclaimed, showing his excitement. Before Yixing could even add anything, Yifan planted a kiss on his cheek and left, practically glowing.
Peach, this time, seemed satisfied with the result and whined happily. She scurried away and when Yixing closed the door, he glanced at the bouquet and at the card; inside of it there was something scribbled quickly together with what looked like the drawing of a crooked heart with a smiley face.
“I’m not drunk anymore, but I still think you’re surrounded by stars all the time.” He read out loud.
Yixing giggled at the cheesy line and he walked into his kitchen to take a vase and fill it with water. He placed his bouquet inside it and sighed.
He needed to try to act better around Yifan, he needed to work on his fears. It was obvious that Yifan was far from perfect, it was wrong of Yixing to have such high standards, judging his neighbor for such little things like his barking dog when it was actually he himself who was being the bad guy.
Taking his phone he called Luhan, panicking for a few seconds. What if he was going to act annoying, what if Yifan was going to bring Peach with him, making Yixing feel angry over nothing at all?
“Hello?” His friend answered.
“I said yes.” Yixing said immediately, almost gasping for air. “What… what am I going to do now?”
Luhan didn’t say anything for a few seconds, then he sighed. “You just need to try.” He answered with a tired voice. “I can’t help you more than this. But I know you like him too, so this is going to be okay.”
That phone call slightly calmed Yixing. However, he was so in deep thought that he messed up again at the bar, and his boss wasn’t kind at all when he called him out.
“This is too much, are you stupid?! It’s not that difficult to make a drink, yet you got my customers’ orders wrong again!” Yixing didn’t dare to look at him, ashamed to hear those things. “It’s been less than an hour and you’re acting dumb again. Go away! You’re fired!”
Yixing looked up, with wide eyes. “What?!”
His boss shooed him away in anger. “You heard me!”
The younger man scurried away, his vision blurring. Of course his mood was always the worst, his boss treated him horribly and the result was him always feeling annoyed with the whole world. But he had needed this job, and losing it was a blow.
He ran back home and as he was unlocking his flat’s door, Yifan left his flat.
“Oh, you’re here!” He said, surprised.
Yixing nodded weakly, embarrassed. “I was fired.” He replied with a small voice.
Yifan froze, but answered quickly. “Seriously? Then come here, have a beer or two with me.”
It wasn’t a bad idea, Yixing wanted to drink and rant about his boss anyway; the two of them entered Yifan’s flat and Yixing took off his jacket.
“So, what happened exactly?” The taller asked.
The other sighed as they walked in the living room and he threw himself on the couch. “I messed a couple of orders and my boss got angry. He insulted and then fired me.”
Yifan appeared with a couple beers and offered one to his neighbour, who chugged it down as soon as he grabbed one.
“What?” Yixing sighed and grunted when Yifan sat next to him and threw an arm around his shoulders.
“Then I’m kind of glad you don’t work there anymore. Your boss sounded awful.”
Yixing hummed and gulped down another bit of his beer. “Yeah.” He murmured, remembering what Yifan told him days ago.
You should stop working there, plus I don’t want to only see you on the weekends…Yixing smiled unconsciously.
With the TV on, they chatted while drinking. The more beer they chugged down, the closer they sat and the more Yixing felt like he could just fall asleep on Yifan’s shoulder.
At some point he had abandoned his beer along the other empty cans and he actually rested his head on Yifan’s chest. Somehow their legs got tangled together and Yixing was completely relaxed thanks to Yifan caressing his back and leaving half-drunken pecks on his forehead.
“It’s so nice when you do that.” Yixing mumbled, grinning tiredly. “It makes me feel a bit less of a moron.”
The taller man chuckled and took Yixing’s hand, to caress it with his thumb. “You’re not stupid.” He answered with a smile.
Yixing shook his head. “But I’m kind of a bastard. I haven’t really been treating you and Peach well ever since you came here.”
Yifan hummed and shut off the TV. “It doesn’t really matter.”
The other just whined and turned around to face his neighbour.
“It does!” He exclaimed. “Because it’s not really your fault if Peach is so noisy. It’s just that you’re so nice to her, and even to me… I don’t deserve it.”
Yifan didn’t add anything for a couple of minutes, making Yixing wonder whether the other had fallen asleep.
“It doesn’t matter.” The taller finally replied quietly. “Now let’s get you home, okay?” He whispered, getting up from the couch and carrying Yixing with him.
The younger man chuckled and grabbed his neighbour’s shoulders, afraid of falling. “I think you’re really amazing.” Yixing mumbled, head falling again on Yifan’s chest, who just laughed. Yixing was slowly falling asleep to the small, soft sounds of Yifan’s heart.
“Where are your keys?” The tall man asked, bringing him back from the brink of sleep.
“In my back pocket!” Yixing said immediately. When Yifan patted on his bottom, the younger started giggling drunkenly. “I lied. They are in my jacket. I just wanted to feel your hands on my butt.” He explained with a stupid grin on his lips.
Yifan grinned back at him and shook his head both in disbelief and amusement. “You’re really something when you’re drunk.”
Yixing sighed and didn’t even notice when they got out of Yifan’s flat and entered his one. He was placed on his bed, and Yifan took off the other’s clothes to let him sleep more peacefully.
“Wait, wait, wait!” Yixing exclaimed, suddenly sitting up. He grabbed Yifan’s shirt and tugged him down to plant a wet, loud kiss on his lips. “Now you can sleep serenely, thanks to my goodnight kiss.”
Yixing fell asleep mere seconds after that. Yifan giggled as he went back to his home and even if the following morning both of them woke up with headache, they had smiles on their faces.
Yixing wasn’t even that dejected at the thought of being jobless, and he was actually happy of waking up with the sun rays hitting his face. It was something that he had missed a lot, so he got up and took the chance to go outside and enjoy that sunny morning. He bought some food and picked out new clothes for his date, and noticed that when he returned home, he wasn’t affected by Peach’s barking as much as before.
Everything was changing, and for once, he didn’t feel that scared at all. Maybe because he knew Yifan was ready to accept every part of him - even the most annoying ones.
When that evening his neighbour rang the bell, he didn’t feel irritated. He opened the door and Yifan was there, greeting him with his gummy smile, and Yixing realized that it had been like that since the beginning, when Yifan introduced himself with a mini chocolate cake as a present, when Yixing went to complain about Peach to him for the first time, whenever Yifan asked for some sugar or had a small candy to give to him.
Yifan was always there, trying to reach him and trying to help him. Yixing was glad that Peach had always been so loud with her barking, or they wouldn’t be standing there, smiling at each other.
“Let’s go.” Yifan whispered, taking his hand.
That night it didn’t matter that Yifan got a bit of sauce on his shirt, and it didn’t matter when they giggled and joked around more than they watched the movie at the completely empty cinema.Yixing let himself go.
When they walked outside the cinema it was pouring, and just for a second he felt like he was going to complain again. But when Yifan tugged him and they started running under the rain, everything felt a bit more than just ‘okay’.
They stopped running only when they reached their apartment block, and it was there, standing in front of Yifan’s flat out of breath and smiling, that Yixing felt like bursting. He took Yifan’s face in his hands and kissed him passionately, moaning softly when the taller hugged him close and kissed him back with the same desire.
They went inside Yifan’s flat and barely noticed Peach, who just barked a couple of times before leaving them to their business.
Yixing needed so much Yifan that they might have been going a bit too fast. Yifan’s hands quickly undressed him and his mouth on the younger’s skin was so hot that Yixing couldn’t think properly anymore.
Kisses and laps on the skins, slow caresses and needy grabs of each other’s hands, made both Yifan and Yixing’s minds go weak, clouded with lust and need, as well as love. As their bodies connected, Yixing felt finally complete. He felt like everything he did had been forgiven, and between groans, moans and soft gasps, he could see it too. He could see what Yifan saw when he stared at him, he saw stars and infinity in Yifan’s eyes and all around him.
He had never hugged anyone so tightly before that day, and when they reached their climax, Yixing was smiling softly. He didn’t mind feeling sticky and tired, he loved when Yifan kissed his breath away and softly tickled him with his strands of hair as he brought their foreheads together.
“Is this okay?” Yifan whispered, kissing Yixing’s fingers, who nodded silently and smiled.
They fell asleep in each other’s arms and when Yixing woke up, in the late morning, it almost felt surreal. As he stared at Yifan, he wondered why he had wanted to make his life more difficult and why he had wanted to wait so long before actually trying.
He played with the taller man’s hair, sighing as softly as possible to not wake him up, and chuckled when Yifan smiled in his sleep. He pecked his nose, his cheeks and his lips, and when he noticed Yifan’s opened eyes, he smiled. “I’m not drunk, but I think you’re surrounded by stars all the time.” He whispered.
Yifan laughed sleepily and somewhere, in the house, Peach barked and started scratching the bedroom’s closed door and whining when it didn’t open.
Yixing wasn’t scared anymore. And he really felt the need to smooch Peach. A lot. Just to thank her, because without her this would not have happened.
