Neechee's Best Vet Visit EVER!

Got kitty into the carrier with very little trouble this morning. I got out the big Ruffles Chips towel and wrapped her up while I was brushing her (I feel so deceitful). The first attempt failed 'cause the carrier tipped over as she was shifting around (did not bundle her tight enough) and she almost got away, but I caught her and wrapped her up tighter and put her in. Two tries and I had no help, that's pretty good!

She cried in the car all the way to the vet, but this is the closest vet I've ever had, so she only had to endure like...7 minutes in the car. The vet visit went well - heart fine, coat fine (the vet commented on how soft and shiny she was, even though I complained she was looking duller than usual), weight good, teeth good. Updated shots. She even accepted a treat afterwards, which is the first time she's ever done so! Usually she's not happy till she gets home, but she went back into the carrier without a fuss, and barely cried on the way home. As soon as we got near the house she became really anxious to get out, and when I let her out, she didn't bolt (as she has in the past) she actually hung around for a couple more treats and praise and petting. Good kitty!!

I just rewarded myself with a slice of the blueberry cheesecake I baked last night (mmmmm) and for once in this very rainy season it's sunny out and I'm going climbing! I'm excited and nervous. My friend Dan had a terrible climbing accident in WV just a few weeks ago, and it involved a fall, a punctured lung and a broken pelvis. I'm tempted to chicken out and a part of it is because I don't know anyone who's climbing today, and the one girl I do know, I only met once and haven't seen in over a month. Ah well, it's good to make new friends! I'm sure once I get climbing I will be very glad I went.
