I really like this as an attempt to put a canon interpretation of what would normally be a very fanon story, ie Ginny/Sirius as a pairing.

Unlike the commenter above me, I don't have any problems with Ginny's actions here. She says she's not going to give Harry the letter; she's going to burn it - and I can quite understand why she would need to write out her feelings before destroying the evidence.

I liked her considerations at the end, especially this line: "why had no one ever told me he was such a mess? Why had no one ever told me that he was far, far more screwed up than I ever was, Tom Riddle and all?"

I adore Sirius, and so this scenario requires some suspension of disbelief for me, but that makes reading it no less compelling. It's obvious that he went into a very dark place during his final year; if I can't quite emotionally believe that he might do this, I can certainly see it as a theoretical possibility.

I can also see this Ginny in canon: she seems to have dealt with other darkness alone - or at least, we never see her dealing with Tom Riddle publicly. Why not this situation, too? In this context, also, her decision to burn the letter at the end makes sense.

I'll stop rambling now. :) Thanks for posting!

Oh thank you so much! This is such a nice review, thanks xD I enjoy these kinds of rambles! And yes rereading bits of OotP for this, I was actually surprised at how dark Sirius seemed to be, even though I was obviously looking for it. Glad a big Sirius fan likes it; I wasn't trying to demonise him at all. Thank you! ♥ (Sorry if this makes no sense, I'm v tired!!)
